There was some chatter about Minkah but then nothing transpired since then, are we getting a visit or has there been any contact or is it just the dreams of deluded fans that Wimbush would bring his teammate to ND?

When it was concluded that Wimbush was in fact OVing to ND, Loy posted that Minkah was "very close" to taking an OV with him. He already had an OV setup to FSU so he decided to take that. It seems as though there is a decent chance that we at least get that OV from Minkah at some point. I wouldn't get my hopes up on this but a little substance there.

Get Minkah and Iman Marshall on campus and let the magic set it!

Time to put on the full court press for Soso, ESB, Alize, and Marshall. All 4 are highly rated at their positions.

RB, S, DE

Those are the only 3 needs IMO. Anyone else would have to be a stud. A 4th WR would be nice, but I don't think its imperative. ESB and Aliz'e are just bonuses at this point, I don't think they're necessities.

I really hope we close it out with Soso, Alize, and a DB.

Honestly, and pre-judging before you see kids on campus is silly, but upon review I'm really confused by our DB/DL recruiting.

I agree with this in a sense however part of it was interest, just don't think we had sincere interest from elite DL this year, next year should be drastically different on DL recruiting with King, Robertson, Cooper and Prince as options.

It's always "next year". Eventually it has to be " this year" if we ever want to be perpetually elite.

True but its not every year that the Midwest has elite DL prospects, next years DL class throughout the Midwest is as talented as I've seen in a long time. No doubt about it, we have to continue to make strides in SEC country as well as Texas/Cali if we are going to win the title

Alize is an absolute beast...really hope he flips, the switch to ND. If wants to be great in CFB, he will.

Soso, I don't know too much about. But if he is as good as you all talk, want him too.

I think last years DL haul was pretty elite. May not be amazing to star gazers, but the on the field production will be very, very good. I'm really confident in that.

Yeah, the last two combined are really good in my opinion. I expect great things from whatever combo that is created of the best 5. Q Nelson and McGlinchey have 1st round talent fo sho!

Sometimes I mix up my D's and O's lol, sorry.

Curious as to why you say that. Bonner and Williams haven't played a snap. Nor Mokwuah. Trumbetti, Cage, Balnkenship, and Hill have all played, but, honestly, have not contributed many (if any, really) "wow" plays. Most of the upperclassmen ahead of them on the depth chart should be back. I'm not expecting the current FR to have very, very good production.

I hope they do. But I'm with Lax, I've been a bit puzzled by last year's and this year's DL recruiting.

We'll have first round talent all over the field next year, including the most important QB position.

Hard to find a player on that future team without an NFL future.

I wouldn't expect many wow plays out of true freshman, but I have to disagree with you. Cage's strength and ability to more than hold his own against Stanford's OL wowed me. Ditto for Trumbetti, who I think has played great. Kolin Hill has wowed me with his explosiveness, especially on the big 4th down sack of Gardner.

I haven't been wowed yet by Blankenship, but if Ishaq / Tuitt were around he would be redshirting along with Williams, Hayes, etc. And it is not their production to date honestly that gets me excited and high on their potential, it is their combined physical attributes, projectable upside, and character that makes me think so.

I am super, super high on Williams and Blankenship - one or two more years in the weight program and they are going to be great players IMO. Kolin Hill doesn't have the same upside, but he has the tools to be very productive at what he does. Trumbetti is just the man - gives 110% and is the type of guy OL hate to play against. I will be very surprised if he isn't productive throughout his career.

If you were basing it just on what we have seen so far, of course you wouldn't be crazy high on most. But it's what you can project them to be that's what's exciting. If you looked at Jarron Jones at the same point in his career, he would be on his way to being a bust, not possibly the second most important player on our defense. Dude absolutely mauled two of the better OLs in football, and he still has more ND football in front of him. It was his frame and potential that got ND coaches and others excited about him - sometimes it just takes a little bit for a kid to put it all together. I expect to see several in the freshman class in the front 7 do the same.

Last year's DL recruiting could have been much much worse. Cage at minimum has already shown to be a middle clog and needing doubled. I think Blankenship can have a very good career here (I'm thinking Kap-esque, four years, captain, etc). Trumbetti can play, we know that. As far as Bonner, Hill, Mokwuah, Williams; hard to say what happens but at minimum that's some great depth/scout, better than we have had for a while.

This years group, doesn't look the sexist I agree but (and I know people hate this) I'll defer to the staff. There's a lot of experience making those decisions together. And who is to say one of these kids doesn't surprise us. A kid or two usually does.

I like Treadway as well. Tiassum is a little bit of a head scratcher and he probably won't be ready until the 3rd year but like Jarron there's a lot to work with.
