Don't mind a "silent" one bit. Though being "silent" and wanting to announce at a specific time can come off a bit as "all about me," the truth is that once they announce their decision, and then sign their LOI, they never have another moment of their own again. They become property of the school and the NCAA.

Let them take control of the one moment they have, which is their announcement. Even if they want the attention, it's not a big deal. It's kind of like ragging on a kid for having a graduation party.

trying to prove one is a silent commit or not, does not validate whether AQM is going to sign with the Irish, or Miami, or anyone else for that matter... Its a pointless discussion that can never be proven so whats the point of debate..? The stronger discussion should be signs pointed to ND but now they appear to be wavering..

Here is a list of Phil Steele's top 100 recruits for 2013.

ND has verbal commitments from 6 already, and is likely to end up with 8 by the end. If all else holds constant, that would put us 3rd nationally, behind USC (11) and 'Bama (9).

I concur. I also think having some kids announce for ND at these All American games helps put ND in the spotlight.

I get what you're saying but it could also be argued by that logic that talking about AQMs recruitment won't prove anything one way or another without actual quotes from someone in the know. We can discuss what the visit to Miami rather than ND that weekend to our hearts content, but in the end unless he or someone close to his recruitment actually tells us what it means then it we can't come to any definite conclusion.

My response would be its easier to validate a visit. Even in tight recruitments, eventually the kid signs or doesn't. But there's almost never a time after a recruit signs, any evidence to suggest he was or wasnt a silent... Further, a kid or coach is more likely to expand on the experience of his visit than he would express to a reporter his silent commitment.
