Bit of a learning curve in the beginning, and until you get some decent armor and get your weapon/ability skills up you're going to suck probably. I made the mistake of using a weapon that I didn't have the strength to wield in the beginning...cause I stole it. I would have been better off trading for something not as nice that I could actually use better...SEVERE penalties for using equipment you don't have the strength or agility required to handle. Also, try to do the Parry/Counter tutorials with the Captain as early as possible, will help a lot. Have fun!

The learning curve is something. I feel the game is a bit unwieldy, at least to start. Only played for like 40 minutes last night. Got to seeing my parents die. I do enjoy the immersion the game provides, but I can tell it is going to be a grind.

Jedi Survivor *chugggggggggggggs* buddy, even on a Series X, but it’s so unbelievably fun. They should build all the Star Wars out of Cal Kestis and his crew.

I'm having a blast too, but the frame dips on performance mode are garbage. Agreed on the Cal Kestis media front. I hope they eventually do a show or at least have him cameo.

I had to look it up to be sure, but Jedi Survivor is happening basically at the same time as the events in Obi-Wan. In particular, Cal and Obi-Wan are both supporting the same secret organization.

Yeah, brutal starting out, but that's to be expected as an untrained blacksmith's son. In the beginning just taking on one guy in combat can be challenging, and multiple often means murder. Hell, even late game I found myself typically avoiding fights with 5 or 6 enemies solo because realistically they can still prove to be too challenging depending on their gear and such. Good armor can mitigate that a bit though, and if you have the Mutt with you he can help out too.

It's fun once you start to get the hang of things and upgrade some skills. It felt a bit cheap, but I stealth killed a bunch of guards early and I fenced the armor so I could buy legit good stuff. I was not always the most chivalrous Henry in that respect, especially if the guards gave me any lip or started searching me for stolen goods too often. I also boinked a bunch of wenches. I was pretty generous otherwise.

DMZ is where it's at, BR will get replaced by extraction shooters
My buddies say the same thing. I’m not a huge extraction fan. Doesn’t appeal to me. Ranked was fun for a little while till I just continually got hacker lobbies, I will say that.

I'd argue you were pretty generous in that way as well.

I'm ok with it being difficult starting out given the reasons you mentioned, and I like that I have to work for it all. I think my biggest gripe so far is that it was built as a PC game, and transitioning that gameplay to console made some of the controls a bit clunky. Not enough to make me quit or anything, but certainly something they should look at if they make a sequel for us console fanboys.

Agree, picking locks is a real pain in the ass with a controller imo, but at the same time I plugged in a controller for combat because mouse and keyboard actually made it more difficult. I do so much rogue stuff that having to lockpick constantly with a controller would make me punch my monitor probably.

the lockpicking on console is very unkind for sure. I played it on PS4 for like 3 hours and then stopped and bought it on Steam when it was on sale for my gaming pc because the load times were very bad on PS4

Finished Sekiro last night. For a From Software game I thought it was very good. It was better than the Souls games (Or at least the first 2, haven't played 3 yet) as far as plot goes. There's actually a meaningful story there, and you don't need to read tea leaves or use voodoo to piece it all together. There's some characters there, although with limited interaction. More interaction from Genichiro might have been good. I did appreciate how the ending returned to where it all began. I went with the Dragon's Return ending. I looked it up, because some of those endings are way too vague with their steps sometimes, and you can get stuck if you didn't talk to x NPC at y Time between certain quests. Ain't nobody got time for that.

The combat was great, I like the opportunity for rogue style gameplay. There were a few bosses that gave me fits. If there was one thing I missed having from the Souls games it was the inability to wear and upgrade armor, which of course you're not going to do as a Shinobi. I just like collecting and tweaking builds, it adds some spice for me. Same thing with the weapons, getting stuck with the same sword the whole game is slightly boring. If they do another I hope other options are available like Bo, Chain and Sickle, Bow and Arrows, maybe a Naginata. Some of that you get with the prosthetics, but I think some extra primary weapons would have added some more flavor to boss battles.

I'm on the fence what to play next. Everyone seems to be playing Zelda, but it looks like $70 DLC to me. I'd rather wait and get it on sale or used. I've heard Ganon actually has some lines this time, so that would be an upgrade. I might bring up Monster Hunter: Rise again as I never got to the DLC on that one. The combat is on par with Souls games, although MH: Rise was more forgiving than MH: World. The difference is there's a plethora of weapons and armors you can craft from the monster parts, making it actually fun to grind.

Allegedly Ulk has kids and a wife,… however our test results and his ability to run through games like Decaprio runs through 20 years olds show that shit was a lie.

Someone check on Wiz. I thought for sure he'd be back to tell us how Tears of the Kingdom was.

Still pretty early in the game for Kingdom Come. Lock picking is still tough, but the easy locks are very easy now so that's nice.

Just took my walk with Theresa the other night, and I just stole from Talmberg for that other miller.

Biggest gripe now is the aiming with a bow and arrow. I admire the realism by making it difficult, but still tough to get aim right.

yeah alot of people just manually make their own aiming reticule by putting a piece of tape on their monitor lol

I've seen that suggested haha. I like the realism of making it hard without the reticule. You are a blacksmith's son after all, you should not be expected to hit another man 30 yards away early on. But it would be nice if over time you maybe got some kind of aid as you got better.

That said these minor things are just that, minor. I am really enjoying the game even with its quirks and such.

Been playing a lot of PGA 2K 23. Forgot how much fun golf games can be. It's a nice palate cleanser from Warzone frustrations.

It does get easier as your skill improves. At one point my melee skill and armor was so good I mostly stopped using a bow though. Easiest way I found to level bow was chasing sheep on horseback. I heard cows work too.

I miss the old Tiger Woods games when you took the money from championships and used it to upgrade your clubs, your look, your stats, etc. Last one I played you get paid, but you didn't really get to do anything with the money.
