Speaking of which... I've been on the Direct Buy waiting list since at least November of last year for a PS5. I've really needed one too, my PS4 has been on the fritz forever...when my youngest was 1 he decided to pull the brand new PS4 off the tv stand and jack up the HDMI connector. Instead of fixing it Sony sent me a crummy refurbished model that promptly started getting graphic card issues just weeks after the one year warranty was up. I've had to washer mod it and other things to keep it running the last few years, so I really wanted a backwards compatible PS5 to replace it with rather than put the money into a new PS4.Did everyone see where EA will only make NCAA for current gen systems (ps5 and Series X)?? If you haven’t yet you’d better start hunting for yours
I wouldn't see a big need honestly, you'd probably be fine with just the Series X. I keep a Sony machine around just because a few of my buddies aren't into PC games so if I want to play with them I need a console. Otherwise I'd be happy sticking with just the PC and the occasional Switch title, there's not that many exclusives these days. PC has pretty much everything the consoles have anyway and does them better.I’ll prob get a PS5 in a few months,… even tho I have a series x,… I’m dumb like that
Make sure you get NCAA '24 when it comes out then. I'll let you win a game or two against me, and by let you win I mean I'll give up a ton of scores on D. When it comes to defense I can only play DL in football gamesI got a series x and it’s cool but I saw my buddy’s ps5 and ‘We wants it!!! We NEEDS it!!’
My open field tackling and coverage skills are awful. That’s the whole reason I want a ps5,… is for ncaa.Make sure you get NCAA '24 when it comes out then. In any case, I got an e-mail back in April that I'd have the...chance...to buy one back then. On that day I signed in just before the event opened, only to sit in a randomly generated queue for 45 minutes. While in that queue I actually had to go pickup the kids from school, so I had to put my phone on hotspot so my laptop would remain connected...all that, only to find out they were all sold out when I got to the front of the line. Thanks a fucking lot, Sony!
Fast-forward to yesterday I finally get another e-mail for the...chance...to buy one again. I'm signed in and waiting for the event to start today...and this time instead of a 45 minute queue it says it's an hour. Fuck! I figured if I didn't get one before I was certainly screwed now, but the queue quickly jumped from an hour down to 30 minutes, then 15, then 5. Total wait was maybe 15 minutes total. So I'll finally have one in hand in about a week or so. I added GT7 to the checkout, I'm looking forward to finally playing old school Sim mode. I hard passed on GT Sport, I don't think I've had a GT game since GT5.
I got Madden 23 PS4. Plays better than last year. Defense especially vs the pass is difficult vs top tier QBs. Receiving especially for jump balls seems to be a little more responsive. WRs on broken plays don't just stand still and actually rally towards the the QB. The offense lineman have the bellies of sumo wrestlers. The made Cole Kmet look like Thor. Overall I think it was worth it but I buy Madden and MLB the show every year. If you're are a big NFL guy it might not be worth buying
I play franchise pretty much exclusively, not many major adjustments there. Scouting is a pain and not as fun as it should be. Even the best rookies usually only get a high ranking of 78 and never turn into elite players. Probably why I never get past year 5. I don't play online at all, in my experience players quit on you when they get down 14 or moreDo you play franchise mode at all? It’s usually lacking, so it’s been three years since I’ve bought Madden, it just doesn’t have the depth that Dynasty on NCAA14 has (which sounds crazy).
I may buy it and try to get competitive with online play, but it still may not be worth it since I don’t play ultimate team either lol
Switch is good for the young ones, but obviously you have some time before the kid will be able to play games, and even then I'd leave it in the docking station. If you plan on introducing them to older games you could also get a RetroPie build.Mrs Leppy and I had our first child 2 weeks ago. Baby girl has 2 ND onesies, and I have the 8pm -12am shift. I haven't had a game system since 2015 but am considering getting one just for this reason.
I follow this guy on Twitter:
He usually posts Sony direct opportunities, and will bump the tweet for the random weekday drops that have no wait time in the queue.
I’ll be trying to grab one this fall at some point.
yeah i still want a ps5 really bad but best buy and amazon are always sold out still. walmart has some but i'm not paying $650 plus for a console thoughI got a series x and it’s cool but I saw my buddy’s ps5 and ‘We wants it!!! We NEEDS it!!’
It sounds like supply is finally catching up. A lot of people in recent weeks are saying they're finding PS5s in the wild in stores, and scalper prices have started coming down considerably too as the market compensates. If you're not already signed up for PS Direct I'd suggest doing that. I finally got mine last week, but I'm guessing the queue is getting smaller and smaller these days so the wait will do the same.yeah i still want a ps5 really bad but best buy and amazon are always sold out still. walmart has some but i'm not paying $650 plus for a console though

EA actually hired a few of the mod team from Revamped but yeah its gonna be hot garbage no doubti've been enjoying NCAA Revamped. Madden doesn't do it for me; NFL is soulless. my guess is that revamped will be better than whatever NCAAF game EA craps out.
Oh, I didn't know that!EA actually hired a few of the mod team from Revamped but yeah its gonna be hot garbage no doubt
This NCAA relaunch could be huge for EA. This would be the perfect chance to reclaim their title as best in the business.
With that said.
It will suck.
they can't even get onfield refs in the new madden cos of the limitations of the game engine smhThe newest point of contention is that EA 'doesn't know' if there will be full 85-man rosters. They are focused on making sure they have accurate two-deeps for every team, instead.
They told us we could only have 70-man rosters back in the day because of limited space and processing issues with the extra ~1900 players... there shouldn't be such restrictions with new gen capabilities. If they limit rosters, it's because they want to limit the amount of real-life players getting a cut of their profits.
Until they have a LS position with skill ratings that matter, the 85 man roster is pointless. The newest point of contention is that EA 'doesn't know' if there will be full 85-man rosters. They are focused on making sure they have accurate two-deeps for every team, instead.

The fact remains that somehow NCAA 06 on the PS2 was the high water mark of the series. Everyone talks about NCAA 14, but that's because of it being the last of the series. It was good, but somehow they removed things from the game as the series went on despite better processing and space. Now, we are seeing they might only have 2 deeps (hmm doesn't that sound like just porting over the Madden roster space?!?!). I think you're right about worry about players cutting into profits, this is despite some (albeit small) poles reporting the players would be happy with a free game or something of similar value.
EA refuses to admit their engine has been shit for the last dozen years.
