Would love to hear what 10ish games you have in front of RDR
I don't think I can do it this late, but I've got a very eclectic taste when it comes to games. I play a little of everything, except maybe puzzle games. I find them too repetitive and boring (Although I have been known to play Dr. Mario and some more obscure titles like Fire and Ice). My list spans just about all eras too, because to me a great game doesn't necessarily fall down a list because there's newer technology out there. I feel like games should be judged in a vacuum based on the era they were released in.

I played a lot of Sins 1. It was fun but no Stellaris.

HOI4 is a hoot. Nothing beats being an evil nazi and nuking the US repeatedly
I play Stellaris from time to time.
Sins 1 I kept around for the mods.

Sins allows much quicker games than Stellaris. Great for coop with my little brother.

I'm partial to Communist China. Poland-Lithuania, and Portugal-Brazil in HOI4.

I nuke everything if the game lasts long enough.

I prefer playing co op lately.

We got into River City Underground this fall.

I'm taking another crack at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. I bought it at launch on PC, and while I liked it, it was massively buggy and didn't play well. I picked it up for PS5 during their Christmas sale, and it's much, much better. Still a surprising amount of bugs for a game that old, including a couple showstoppers that forces a reload to continue, the combat is great, as is the story. Worth a spin now if you haven't tried it.

I enjoyed River City Underground a few years ago (LOVED the original on NES). Thought it was pretty good, only logged about 20 hours in it. I do have River City Girls 1 and 2 in my Steam Wishlist. Looks like it's a similar style game from a different company, but you play as the girlfriends and have to save the guys. The River City Girls games actually have better reviews than River City Underground, so I've been itchin' to check those out once they hit a good sale.

Looks like RCG2 has online Co-Op for 2, and Local Co-Op for 4. Looks like it also may have some characters from RCRU too.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows pushed back another month to 3/20...

Can only mean the game is SO GOOD that they are trying to figure out how to control the mass hysteria that will ensue when people realize how much fun they're having playing as both assassin and samurai characters in feudal Japan.

anybody going to buy the new nintendo switch 2 when it comes out in a few months
I'll probably wait and see when the price comes down. We played our Switch quite a bit the first year we got it, and since then it's been generally collecting a bit of dust. Feels like once Nintendo releases their repeats: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, etc they kind of run out of steam and there's nothing worth getting till the cycle repeats for their next console release.

More than what it already gives you?

If you hit the up and down directional arrows on the d-pad, it should zoom in and out.

If you're playing as a QB, zooming out all the way pretty much lets you see the whole field.

I think my issue with RtG is, as a QB, it doesn't give you the same field view as in a regular game. That is super upsetting.

I also tried playing as a WR, and I feel like there is a lag between the snap and you really being able to take control of the player which is unfortunate.

Got myself a nice starter library of games from all the Black Friday/Christmas/New Year/Lunar New Year sales. I straight up tore through the Spider-Man games and am back on Skyrim for the first time in a dozen years. Man I forgot how addictive this game is.

Playing Ghosts of Tsushima for the first time on ps5. Goodness I like

If you aren't already playing this way, try turning it to the realistic difficulty setting. It's really not more difficult, but it changes the game a lot. It makes every time you get hit by an enemy sword an insta-death, but every enemy also dies in one hit. Makes every fight feel a lot more weighty.

KCD2 out today, downloading now am very excited to get stuck in

Let us know how it goes! I'll be picking it up for sure, but I'll probably wait for a good discount to hit.

If you've played it before, a modded Skyrim playthrough can be great. There's a lot of UI and QoL mods you can download to make the game experience even more enjoyable. There's a lot of added quests, companions, weapons, spells, etc that can be added too to breath fresh life into the game, and I'm talking stuff that isn't game breaking and is lore friendly.

I didn't even know mods were a thing for consoles, I'll have to look into this thanks! I heard that Skyblivion (Oblivion on the Skyrim engine) is supposed to come out this year in case anyone hadn't heard

Yes, I do believe the newer Skyrim remastered release has mods now. There won't be as many as there is for PC, but still better than nothing. I'm definitely looking forward to Skyblivion, imo it had some better quest lines (Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc) and I thought the final boss fight was more epic than a rematch with another dragon. Closing Oblivion Gates was also more epic than...more dragons.

Just started Ghost of Tsushima as well [as a little warmup for the glory that will be Assassin’s Creed Shadows], gonna give this a try.

I took a loooooooooong break from combat games with any level of difficulty, was honestly scared to start on high difficulty. Does enemy insta-death also apply to the battles against leaders?

Anyone play multiplayer on COD6? My daughter (yes daughter) talked me into buying it. Now I'm hooked on Search and Destroy

If I recall correctly, yep.
