What type of man has a lap dog? A Michigan fan comes to mind.

People who do that help me out, and I am appreciative-let's me recognize the Beta's. Lap dogs and Crocs
I use to be the same way. All we ever had was Coonhounds and a Bloodhound. When the last Redbone passed, I was ready to give up dogs given we're starting to get up there. The wife insisted, so we settled on a little beagle mix. She is all of 9lbs. For some reason (maybe her size) I'm more protective of her than I ever was of the bigger dogs. We added a Beagle a couple of months ago.

Several years ago my boss brought her dog to work, I was like WTF. Who does that?

Well, she unfortunately told us when the dog gets hyper, it pees.

Yes, I freaked the dog out, and yes, it peed. I laughed and walked away. Boss was cursing at me.... Leapfrogged that boss in a year. What a POS.
I took my wife and kid to the zoo yesterday, and three (presumably Gen Z?) kids were stopped near the entrance and told to leave by zoo employees, BECAUSE THEY HAD BROUGHT THEIR PET LIZARDS FROM HOME. They were just casually strolling in with freaking lizards hanging out on their shirts/chest and did not understand why that was a problem. I'm still baffled tbh.

Reminds me a bit of being at a dog park (fenced) with my GF’s dog and two early 20 year olds come into the fenced area with bags of fast food for their lunch. It didn’t take long before multiple dogs were fighting each other to get close to the food. A couple of them ended up with some minor cuts/injuries before I went over to the people and suggested it might be a good idea to take their food outside of the fence. They were totally clueless…….

Happens quite frequently here. One individuals uninformed opinion is another's ignorance.

"Self Awareness" is certainly lacking in today's society.

People that dont know how to fucking drive really grind my gears. Headed home from work and a woman decides to get half in my lane to pass a car getting their mail when she is right on top of me. My new 2500 HD took the brunt down the driver's side. Don't think she'll be sending me a Christmas card as she got called every name I could think of and then some I couldn't. Don't even have 300 miles on it and it's hit from behind front tire to the back bumper

Yeah that sucks. People just don't pay attention to their surroundings. Always on their phones, always distracted.
Sorry to hear about your new truck. Hopefully insurance comes through, and you get it back good as new.

Just the blatant lack of consideration these days is appalling. The ability to put others over self is just non-existent. It’s the basis of most things that grind my gears. Dogs everywhere. Poor and distracted drivers.

At school we’ve got a pretty solid PBIS program going which basically incentivizes positive behaviors from kids in order to eventually get those things to become intrinsic and weed out the negative behaviors. Things like being gracious, respectful, thoughtful, trustworthy, etc. At times I just catch myself thinking wtf are we doing rewarding and celebrating things that used to be common sense and that we were TAUGHT at home. Holding the door for others, saying please and thank you, helping someone who obviously needs it….But then I realize that because parents don’t parent anymore, if we don’t teach it in school, they’ll never learn it. Crazy times.

Evidently we're now in a time when everyone's opinion has to be valid.

I miss the days when you could just tell someone that they are fucking stupid and not informed.
And the louder they talk or yell, the more right they are. Lol

24k estimate to get truck fixed. In negotiations to have body shop buy it off me and get a new one. Didn't realize it torqued the rear axle until estimate came back. Honestly, with that much damage, dont want it back

What year is it? I know you said new 2500, but is it a ‘25, or just “new to you”?

If estimate is at $24k, your provider probably has a way they could declare that thing a TL for you, but then you’re hoping the value is higher than what you owe on it (unless you paid cash and/or have gap coverage)

Sheeesh, gonna have a high salvage value but also extremely high cash value, gonna depend on your provider or responsible provider and how they determine TL.

Good luck on that and stay firm with the insurance. If they try to low ball you, it might be good to have an attorney write them a nasty letter.

Depends on the state. Some states consider it a T/L at 70% or 75% of ACV, some states it is up to the Insurance Comp to determine if it is economical to repair. They can do a what is called a break even (at least they should). You should also find out if you have "Finance Value" or "GAP". More or less the same thing.

Sorry, Insurance nerd, I work for one of the big 3 in commercial auto, but we hit a lot of personal vehicles for some reason lol.

If he’s a claimant, that’s an option

If he’s going through his coverage as the insured, his contract probably prevents that. Would have to explore if contract has a “Right to Appraisal” clause

This, there are also multiple 3rd party appraisal services, Autobid, CCC, Audatex. The issue with Right to Appraisal, is that it is at your cost, out of pocket. It can also be binding (depending on the contract). This is if they give you an ACV (Actual Cash Value) that is low.

I can direct you (@FU BK )to the CCC spec sheet (best for personal autos) if needed.

Online orders where they create the shipping label right after the order is placed. The send an email that your item has shipped. You check the tracking number, but the carrier shows they haven't received it yet. Took four days before the carrier actually received my package.

I'm assuming he's going after her insurance. Didn't know that about the clause. Good to know.

So we rented a house in Vero Beach through Vrbo for a family get together. Went through a lot of listings, reviews, checked it on Google Maps and even contacted the owner before deciding on a particular house. As we pull up, the wife asks if I have the right address. There's a utility trailer in the driveway, the landscape is over grown, grass needs mowed and the privacy fence is leaning badly with a hole you could step through. Stepped inside to find the interior was clean and closer to what was posted, but the pool area needed attention. After a couple of days we found mold in a bedroom closet.

Contacted Vrbo. They said they were escalating and someone would contact me. It's been almost two weeks since with no word from them. Tried to follow via chat with an agent and they have it set up where it's almost impossible to chat with a human. It's all a BOT chat. Finally found a phone number. Can't wait to see how they have their IVR programmed to keep you from speaking to a person.

Had something similar with our Vrbo in Myrtle Beach a few years back.

Got a last-minute condo, so affordable options were slim, but found a decent 3-bed place in a tower on the beach. Pics showed outdated furniture and whatnot, but an otherwise clean place.

Showed up to a condo that was not in great shape, dirty floors, stains on furniture and mattresses, sliding door to the balcony was broken, and there was a MASSIVE hole in the bathroom ceiling directly above the shower, none of which was disclosed when we reserved it.

We cleaned the place up as best we could, got mattress covers to go with our personal sheets, and got maintenance to tarp the hole over the shower… probably left it better than we found it lol. We had no choice as it would’ve been a lot more money out of pocket to try and get a different place.

And to the owner’s credit, she stated that the condo management hadn’t informed her of most of the problems since it was “livable,” so she returned three days’ worth of charges towards the condo.

Glad she ponied up. I sent the owner the laundry list of problems. His reply, "Thanks".

THIS drives me crazy. Companies are going out of their way to do everything to keep you from talking to an actual person. I spent HOURS on chat support, then the phone during my Xmas break dealing with Verizon when it was their screw up. But, they do every possible thing they can to keep you from talking to an actual agent. And when that agent doesn't know their head from their ass, they say they'll have someone else call you, and guess what, they never do!
