Yukmouth is a seriously under appreciated rapper. The track Rescue 911 he did with Dru Down is one of the best gangster raps of all time in my opinion.

Agree Yukmouth was good, but he seemed to never get it going IMO after 5 on It. IIRC he went solo and kinda fizzled.
5 on It was crazy good, and Michael Marshall killed it on the hook. Speaking of Michael Marshall, that brings back 80s Timex Social Club and their song Rumors lol..

Obviously, an analogy. Can anyone even name the other members of Santana? However, as long as Carlos keeps playing there will always be a group named Santana. His guitar playing is what defines the band's sound.

The same can be said of Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac without LB is not the same band. It could always be named Fleetwood Mac, because of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie's solid foundation. In fact, it did exist before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. But absent Buckingham or Nicks it is not the band that rose to the top of the charts. If Stevie Nicks had been kicked out of the band, it would leave a similar void. Her voice and his guitar playing and singing defined the band.

And now for something completely different...

If you ever have a chance to see Kennedy's Kitchen perform at The Fiddler's Hearth in South Bend, this song in particular, it changes a man.

Josh Groban's cover of O Holy Night is the best Christmas song there is. Change my mind.

Josh Groban anything is the absolute worst. "You Raise Me Up" is probably my least favorite popular song I've ever heard besides Mr. Jones by Counting Crows (and that's moreso for personal reasons).

I feel about Pavarotti how Peter Griffin feels about The Godfather.

I recently watched “The Mule” w/ Clint Eastwood. The end of the movie ended with a really cool song. I was surprised to find out it was Toby Keith. I think it’s called “Don’t Let the Old Man In”. Keep an open mind & check it out.

The Earl Stone character is based on my homie, Leo Sharp from Michigan City. Grew up with the grandkids.

So getting used to Texas and my in laws being close instead of my direct family as it was in Cali,... It’s all good as my brother in law and I and my father in law and I are super tight. One thing tho is the music, they all listen to country which I’m just not a fan of,... except,... Chris Stapleton.

BRAH, this Stapleton dude is fucking fire. I can’t believe he’s not more known outside of the genre. He feels like he’s from the 1960s and just morphed here with the soul, blues and just natural talent. I’m a big fan already. Too many great songs to list highlight just one.

You might want to check out Sturgill Simpson and the Drive by Truckers too. Seeing as you’re in Texas learning the lyrics to Wasted Days and Wasted Nights by Freddy Fender would be a good idea. Cheers.

When ya'll get finished with Stapleton & Simpson, graduate to some Tyler Childers. Hard to believe they all are from within 30 miles of each other in Coal Country, Kentucky.

ACamp, if you like Stapleton you should indulge in the aforementioned in posts above. Also, I would recommend the following:

Whitey Morgan
Whiskey Meyers
Band of Heathens
Hayes Carll
Blackberry Smoke
Colter Wall
Drivin’ N Cryin’

There’s a nigh/day difference between pop-country and alt-country (or outlaw country if you prefer)
