Haven't seen Oppenheimer yet, but came a cross several documentaries about him on YouTube. If you're a fan of WWII, it's worth learning about his personal life.
Two things that struck me.
1. While the U.S. was in a race with Germany during WWII to develop the atom bomb, it was later found that Germany was no where close to developing one.
2. Russia was able to infiltrate the Manhattan Project with a spy who was vouched for by England. Evidently this spy had infiltrated and worked for England before being recommended by England. If he wasn't successful, Russia is years away from developing their bomb and the Cold War may not have materialized like it did.
