Your choice of oil rich in fatty acids should work. Vegetable oil or Olive oil are what I’ve used. Don’t use bacon or bacon grease right off—could pit the surface due to the saltiness of the bacon.

As far as care, after cooking scrape it, and then pour some water on it while it’s still hot. Scrape all that into the grease trap. Once it’s cool, season it again with your oil.

It takes a little time, but it’s worth it.

My father in law has one and let it rust to hell and gone over the winter. It was brand new this summer. He said he fixed it right up but I saw how bad it was and can’t imagine what he did to get it right again. Not sure I want to eat off of a black stone that’s probably seasoned with engine degreaser and WD 40

My oldest got her first job about a year ago,… works at the local wing place (like a regional wing stop) ,… really good wings btw… anyway, they sell Cajun gator bites. Good lord are they good! I’ve had gator many times. That place has by far the best gator I’ve had

The mention of peanut butter reminded me of something we do in my family. Go to Dairy Queen and order a Peanut Buster Parfait and have them replace the middle layer of fudge with peanut butter. It's amazingly good.

don't know if anyone has tried dirt pudding with caramel topping before but i experimented with it a year or so and loved and so at work today we had a cookout to celebrate memorial day i and made not knowing if anybody would like it or not and i hit it out of the park with the caramel added according to coworkers. if you guys haven't tried dirt pudding that way then try it by just pouring a decent amount of hershy's caramel topping on each layer of the oreo cookies you use. let me know if you guys like it or not.
