My cousins are true East Side, loud and obnoxious. Plus tons of kids show up, some I don’t even know…who are apparently my cousins too. One was black AF, and I’m like how the fuck is that even possible…my lady advises, don’t ask.

It’s weird man.

You just gotta eat and drink. Make the best of it.

My family would freak you out then,… equal parts white, Filipino, black with some Mexican mixed in,… we aren’t all getting together tomorrow however like I noted

Anyone is more than welcome regardless of race, ethnicity, etc. We’re just wondering how my second cousins have two babies a year and one is black.

So I noted it’s just the wife and kids this year,… turkey breast just went in the smoker. Im about to get started with the homemade pumpkin pie from my left over pie pumpkin from Halloween. Got mixed greens ready to go after that vinegar and salt pork style. Wife is doing stuffing and mashed potatoes and we will do a lil can of corn also,… that’s it this year but it’ll all come out great I’m sure

My chick bought a propane powered, inferred air fryer AND an electric turkey roaster so she can do a cook off to see if either stack up to the peanut oil fryer.

I will soon be offline putting this shizot together. Yipee.

Anyone have a go to method for cooking a whole turkey other than the oven?

Smoker but you’re close to too late to start that now

Not sure where else to post this...but although I haven't been on a lot, I'm thankful for you guys.

As for food, a friend invited us over and is doing the heavy lifting; we're doing a roasted garlic bean dip w/ rosemary oil and roasted butternut squash & ricotta crostini as apps.

Go Irish ... Cut down the Trees !

Can you do a whole bird in your smoker? I've been planning to build an outdoor smoker with a kitchen but the backyard makeover has been put on hold for now.

Smoked is always nice but I've had bird straight out of an oil fryer while at Glamis that was out of this world.

Yep, whole bird is fine. You want to brine it the night before and such. It’s killer. I have had deep fried too and yes, it’s amazing

We fried two this year, a typical cajun turkey and a homebrewed hot sauce turkey that was spectacular.

Hot take incoming. Turkey sucks. Dry flavorless meat that requires heroic effort to make appetizing.

You know what doesn't need a bacon sweater, deep frying, or brining to taste great? Steak or prime rib.

F*ck turkey. All my homies hate turkey.

Yeah I’ve been saying for years,… most Thanksgiving staples aren’t that good but turkey especially sucks. Smoked and deep fried are great compared to oven but even then I’d rather do something else. We have in the past actually but we were given a turkey breast this year so eh

Along the lines of a cajun turkey, the best thing I've ever had was a deep fried turkey in avocado oil stuffed with chiles, onions and cilantro. When it came out they sliced it up and though it absolutely needed nothing extra, the guy had a mole sauce to dip it in. I'm not kidding when I say that turkey breast was as good as any ribeye I've eve had. Probably the #1 food experience of my life.

Not eating turkey on Thanksgiving is for Prots. Just like eating anything other than lamb on Easter.

You have dry flavorless Turkey? Sorry you dont know how to cook bruh. Google Julia Childs and Chef John or Alton Brown if you swing that way.

That sounds incredible, was it a restaurant or backyard thing?

Turkey requires a top notch cranberry sauce. Leftover turkey sandwiches with cranberry, mayo and a good bread that's toasted is underrated.

Just had Wendy’s for the first time in about a decade,… now it might be moving to Texas and losing InO and Del Taco while only ‘gaining’ trash ass Whataburger and thus only having McDonald’s anymore fast food wise but damn,… Wendy’s was really freakin good today. I remember it never being fully cooked, like ever. Burger, chili, everything was yummy

ACamp, you don't like the honey butter chicken biscuit?

I haven’t had lol,… I have however tried five different things that would all change my perspective and all were terrible. WB just comes off as a place you really had to grow up with. It’s not just me, my wife and daughters swear it’s abnormally bland too, oh well. The shakes are good tho

Wendys is definitely an upper tier national fast food chain. They are really expensive for what they are though.
