Had
The Bruery's White Chocolate again recently, and was just as amazing as I remembered. Pretty sure I've loved every beer of theirs I've ever tried.
An industry insider who would know told me that Kirkland's 18yo sherry-finished single malt scotch is actually just relabelled Macallan juice. Sherried Macalan is my jam as far as scotch goes, so I had to pick it up, and I was not disappointed. Since this stuff usually sells for ~$300/ bottle on label, at ~$60 it's easily one of the best values in whiskey right now:
I took my kids to the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago and we stopped at a gas station in Flagstaff to use the bathroom. To my pleasant surprise, this place had an amazing selection of unicorn whiskeys on sale for little more than cost. Apparently the guy who owns it moves huge amounts of Sutter Home wine at his hotels and restaurants, so he automatically gets sent a bunch of rare allocated bottles, which he just sticks in this gas station for next to nothing. I got a handle of WL Weller Special Reserve (!), Willet Rye single barrel, Yellowstone Select, Larceny, and Amador double barrel all for under $200. My wife was confused as to why I had to buy so much booze at a random Flagstaff gas station, but needless to say, that was the highlight of my trip.
The store manager told me to call if I'm ever looking for something that's hard to find, because they've always got stuff like that and pretty much no one knows about it...
