Tombstone Dank Fruit Double IPA. One of my favorite beers. Like drinking a tropical fruit salad. Pineapple, mango, guava, peach and a little pear. Just a hint of herbaceousness on the finish to keep it from getting out of control sweet.

Tried the Ballast Point Moscow Mule Ale. Mules are one of my favorite mixed drinks and BP puts out some great beers, but this was kind of meh. I was expecting something along the lines of Dog Fish's Seaquench.

Also super jealous of you Steelhead for being able to grab some Dark Lord.

The Schuylkill County Brew Fest is happening today, 2 blocks from my house. Really excited to get down there. A couple guys I grew up with run the thing, and they do a very good job. 30 breweries from mostly Pennsylvania, one or two from Maryland, and even Sierra Nevada will be there. Should be a good day.

Made it to 4 breweries today for Barks for Beers. All in the Dripping Springs area.

Suds Monkey, good spot. Decent beer. The NE IPA was heavy on the grapefruit. Probably just a bad choice for the weather and needing water already.

Acopon. Love the concept. Had a taste of the Belgian blonde, which was very good. Went with a Dark Pub Ale that was fine, not too great.

Family Business Brewing. Amazing setting with dozens of live oak trees and a good stout, the Grackle.

Figured I'd go to Jester King since I was already there. The Queens beer was fine, but Saison Americane is very very good.

I like Gin during the summer. Either neat, G&T or a dry Martini. Never been a huge fan of Vodka.
Pretty sure you're the one who mentioned that gin and tonics are the perfect hot weather drink. I'm also partial to negronis.

Also half white wine half sparkling water is pretty damn good.

I’m in siesta key on vacation. Enjoying local ipas from green bench, big top, and cigar city. Jai Alai is fantastic. I’m going to bring back a bunch since we drove down.

Vodka water (because somebody drank my can of soda water) and lime. Had to get rid of some leftover vodka from limoncello

Had The Bruery's White Chocolate again recently, and was just as amazing as I remembered. Pretty sure I've loved every beer of theirs I've ever tried.

An industry insider who would know told me that Kirkland's 18yo sherry-finished single malt scotch is actually just relabelled Macallan juice. Sherried Macalan is my jam as far as scotch goes, so I had to pick it up, and I was not disappointed. Since this stuff usually sells for ~$300/ bottle on label, at ~$60 it's easily one of the best values in whiskey right now:

I took my kids to the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago and we stopped at a gas station in Flagstaff to use the bathroom. To my pleasant surprise, this place had an amazing selection of unicorn whiskeys on sale for little more than cost. Apparently the guy who owns it moves huge amounts of Sutter Home wine at his hotels and restaurants, so he automatically gets sent a bunch of rare allocated bottles, which he just sticks in this gas station for next to nothing. I got a handle of WL Weller Special Reserve (!), Willet Rye single barrel, Yellowstone Select, Larceny, and Amador double barrel all for under $200. My wife was confused as to why I had to buy so much booze at a random Flagstaff gas station, but needless to say, that was the highlight of my trip.

The store manager told me to call if I'm ever looking for something that's hard to find, because they've always got stuff like that and pretty much no one knows about it...

Don't be so hard on yourself.

My friends had left me some very nice beer as a thank you while I'm housesitting and dogsitting for them, but I didn't want to open it so late (especially since I was waking up early). But ABW Wizardry is on the tap probably tonight, maybe tomorrow. St Arnold's Bishop's Barrel too

I figured Miller Lite was appropriate for my late beer to unwind

Got my last 2 free Barks for Beers beer tonight. Went to Southern Heights, which has as good of IPAs as anybody in town. Then went to to local brewpub NXNW, which has fine beer. The black ale was shockingly pretty good.

Having a few Hites at a Sushi joint while watching the Angels pregame... Hite is so good considering the style... it’s a Budweiser if Budweiser was done right, very crisp, very clean, very refreshing... such a fantastic beer.
