Well yeah, they're a mixing glass. But they're a hell of a lot easier to stack and store than tulips, pilsner glasses etc.

...and their 16 oz which gives some sticker shock at today's craft prices. They mention a 12 oz tumbler as an alternative. I seriously doubt 99% of the people would differentiate pours between the two. I wouldn't. Plus, one of the beauties of craft is it doesn't have to be ice cold to be enjoyable. I like my porter / stouts just chilled. On the other hand there's Coors Light whose main selling feature is it's COLD because they know what it taste like after it's been sitting in your hand for 20 minutes at the beach.

Fairly light and bit more malty than I expected. Still has some funk, but to be honest I don't taste much of the hops from the dry-hop. I wonder if it's just an old bottle. I haven't seen it before, but it was bottled in October 2015. Not bad, but with it being a bit weak, I'm probably not going to look into getting another bottle.

ETA: Looks like I might be going to Denver in June. Anybody have recommendations for what I should look for?

It is very ok. I am glad that I tried it, and I am even more happy that I got only 1 bottle of it. A 6 pack would have been a chore to drink for me.


Having said that I am intrigued by the Stone Mocha IPA that is coming in June.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll wait to see singles of it on the shelves.

Now I'm having Austin Beerworks Heavy Machinery DIPA courtesy of zelezovlk. Very enjoyable beer.

Do the hops taste old? It's a double so I was hoping it'd last longer.

As in, it tastes more like a strong IPA to me. There's malt, but most of the double IPAs I have are both weaker (this is 12%) and a bit hoppier and way more resiny. I could easily drink an entire bottle without thinking anything of it, if I weren't careful.

Black Rocks Mint Stout. I do love me some mint and stout. I really like it, though it's probably enjoyed best during the holidays (which is appropriate since it's a holiday release)

Brewery Vivant Undertaker Belgian style dark ale

Dark roast flavor, lighter body than I expected, with some smoke to it and a bit of malt. Pretty solid.

Man it seems like I'm flying through this package.
