I bought this stuff from total wine called Winchester. Middle to lower end stuff but I thought that I would try something new and the bottle was cool looking

I just got a 15% off coupon for Total Wine off single bottle beer, limit 24. Good through May 22nd. Keep an eye out for it in the mail or search it online.

We are sitting here at BWW talking some high school football and I've had a couple Karl Strauss Tall Boy DIPA's. Nice and smooth for a DIPA at 9.5% and...and.... I'm on my first BP Pineapple Sculpin. I say first because I will have another. I've previously promised not to drink any of the "Jumped the Shark" flavors by BP but when they get around to putting this in cans it will be my go to pool party beer.

They started shipping cans of the Pineapple Sculpin back in March. You should be good to go.

I love total wine, it is Disneyland for alcoholics!! I will be looking for the coupon.

9.5%, wow, you don't screw around. good alcohol content. I am a stout man myself, IPA's are a little too hoppy for me.

Nothing wrong with that. I have bought many lower end whiskies to sample what is available (Old Crow, Early Times, Evan Williams, etc.) and I have had Winchester bourbon from Total Wine (I would say 80% of my purchases are from TW), it was ok but overpriced at $24. Wouldn't be bad at $15 though.

Ardbeg 10 for me.

I use to be that way as well. When I first got into beer from Whisk(e)y, I didn't like IPAs and only drank Stouts, Porters, and dark Belgian beers. Now IPAs are my favorite style.

Good to know. The benefits of being part of the Big Beer family now I guess. I wonder if it's not available here in Cali? I've never seen it. Bombers and variety boxes with 12oz bottles yes but not the cans.

What do you think of the flavored Sculpins pkt?

Don't forget to look for it online. I'm in California so it may be regional too. I also live 2.5mi from one so I get stuff all the time.

Easy to be a Stout guy when you're from Chicagoland. Goose's Bourbon County Stout and the 3 Floyd's offerings right across the border in Munster. Of course if you think 9.5% is dancing w/ the devil, stay away from those 15%ers.

You still in Chicagoland?

four roses is the one that I really like, 30 bucks but smooth

Standard four Roses is $30 by you? Are you in DC? It is $22 here in AZ. I like Four Roses but in that price range, I like Evan Williams Single Barrel and 1792 (which use to be Ridgemont Reserve 1792). I use to like Elijah Craig 12yo in that price range but sadly they removed the age statement and the whiskey now tastes significantly younger and cheaper.

I live in az also and was at the total wine at I-10 and warner and the four roses was 32 bucks. I like your style, seems like you are a connoisseur of your liquors? I will try the evan Williams when I am done with this Winchester.

No, I live in the Phoenix area now but I am from there originally. No I love the high percentage stuff, I was surprised cause not everyone is into it. I get my balls busted all the time for enjoying Guinness. Nice to see others not afraid of a little hair on the chest when they drink.

Ah, I bet you got the Four Roses Small Batch then. The Evan Williams Single Barrel runs about $28 in AZ (well last time I bought a bottle about a year ago). There are a few AZ people on this board.

Also thank you for the compliment, I do enjoy my drink especially Whisk(e)y and beer.

Now a glass of Lagavulin 12yo 2011 to end the night.

I'm moving back to Scottsdale in the next couple of months. We've been over here for the past 2 years. Lived in AZ from 2000-2014.

So you know, we watch the ND games at the Scottsdale Plaza resort. If you're under 30, you watch it at Rockbar in Old Town.

What part of the valley you in?

in southeast chandler now. real nice area if you are married with kids. Real family orientated. When I met my wife, she had a place already that was in a nicer neighborhood than I was living in at the time. Tried to talk her out of chandler to the northside. She won. Now im glad she did. I like it out here now

At 23 I was just moving on from the 'cheapest I can get" at all times to stuff like Newcastle and Sierra Nevada... those beers opened me up to stuff like Belhaven and Stone and so on...

Probably not today considering the quantity that will be had. haha

But I do know how to drink good beers, last night I had an Oberon (used to drink that all the time) and a couple Dragonfly-s. Still on the cheaper craft side, but good beers in my book.

Truth.
At 23, I was drinking scotch, and had already bought bottles of Glenlivet 12, Highland Park 12, and Macallan 12.

Beau is reaching the age where he can start drinking nicer (slightly) stuff on his birthday (and probably a little less total volume). Nothing wrong with a couple of craft beers instead of the the usual yellow piss.

I was drinking Bells and Rogue before I turned 21. But only when I was staying at my parents house. When I was paying for an apartment I was drinking Hamm's, Goebels, Black Label, and Old Style. The exceptions were paydays and student loan check days. Those days we'd go to Bells. After I was 21 of course.

Somewhere at this exact moment, in a dingy hipster filled bathroom, in Ball State's trendy Village neighborhood, Beau is throwing up a delicious combo of...

Fireball is a total bro drink. Hipsters wouldn't touch that stuff.
