1792 bourbon. Still preferring makers
You must have a strong preference for wheated bourbon then. Try W.L. Weller 12y; it blows the doors off of MM.
I had the misfortune of visiting my wife's family in Wisconsin for 6 days over New Years. Sub-zero temperatures trapped me in-doors with my three rambunctious boys for the entire time. The silver lining? I got to check a bunch of New Glarus beers off my list:
Fat Squirrel - A solid brown ale. I enjoy the style, and would definitely drink this again.
Moon Man - An excellent pale ale. Hop-forward without pushing the IBUs too high. Not a style I usually reach for, but would drink again.
Spotted Cow - This beer gets a ton of hype, but it didn't do anything for me. Would be a good lawn-mowing beer, but it's not one I'll be reaching for again.
Thumbprint Imperial Weizen - Good beer, but disappointed me. Was really hoping for a traditional German-style Weizenbock, which it's not (the "Imperial" in the name should have tipped me off). If you like hoppy wheat, definitely give this a try.
Thumbprint Winter Warmer - Great beer, probably my favorite of the ones I tried (no surprise as this was the most seasonally appropriate beer for the circumstances I was drinking under).
Two Women Lager - Meh. Average pilsener. Though I don't like pale lagers as a rule, so take this with a grain of salt.
Uff-da - Another great beer. Probably my 2nd favorite of this bunch.
Dancing Man Wheat, Staghorn Oktoberfest and Wisconsin Belgian Red are the only bottles that continue to elude me.
