I went to BJ's Brewery tonight with the fam (we had a gift card) and while I normally don't like their beer (and won't order it), they had a beer that they did in collaboration with Green Flash called Hop Pact IPA, so I thought it might be decent. Nope, still crappy.

Now some Dragoon IPA to cleanse the palate.

Where can I find a 6 pack at in the San Diego area? Anyone?

Stone Citracado IIPA. This time from a tulip glass. Between the honey and the malt almost tastes more like a hoppy barleywine.

I am not a fan of Pumpkin beers at all, but even taking that into account, isn't it hard to drink them in August?

Yeah, it was more of a gimmicky / impulse purchase. I believe that particular beer used to taste better when it was harder to come by. However, the 8-ish percent 20 oz'er did the trick in that situation.

Nope. Though I try to stay away from stuff like this, mainly because most people exploit a good name to try to market bad wine/whatever the product is.

So you mean to tell me that my "Vatican Back Scratcher" isn't up your alley??

Try Pumpkinator from St Arnolds down here in Houston (if you can get your hands on it)...Actually one of the best ones around.

Ah, yes, I do enjoy Dos Equis... especially when it's hot out... great easy drinking beer... much different taste and quality than Corona imo...

On a serious note for a second... While I believe we collectively share taste(s) in beer for the most part,... I dislike a number of beers others here enjoy... I share my thoughts once when asked and then let others have their fun if that's their thing...

I'd note how many have posted in here once or twice since the thread started, been ridiculed or what have you, and never posted again.. just food for thought... this is the 'what are you drinking thread' If the intent was really "drink exactly what I drink or go home, silly troglodyte"... maybe the name should be updated...

just food for thought.

I figured that the wink would have indicated the levity of my remark.

It wasn't so much at that comment, just a general tone over the years... Most of the regs in this thread have all been guilty, including myself... For a while now, I've tried to avoid any pretentiousness when someone else enjoys a beer I detest...

If someone really just drinks MGD... more power to them.

Love Street Summer from Karbach
Ruby Redbird from Shiner
Bombshell Blonde from Southern Star

Best summer beers. Especially down here in the hellish heat of Houston, TX

I'll look for those, I want to say the only one I know I have seen is the Ruby... though I MAY be headed your way soon (Austin/Temple/Waco) so beers like that may be easier to get. Time will tell.

I agree that snobbery is obnoxious. People who drink fancy or obscure beers as a way to distance themselves from the unwashed masses rightly deserve mockery.

But it's also possible to fairly describe some beers as objectively better than others.

Corn makes shitty beer. Period. For any American/ Mexican Adjunct Lager you might like, there's an affordable German or Czech style equivalent that is objectively better, because they use better ingredients in their mash bill. The former are basically just mass-produced knock-offs of the latter anyway.

I do love my Celebrator Double Bock and just about anything from Weihenstephan...

Dos Equis is still the bizz from a completely different direction tho.

Nice! Austin has some great beers as well.

Try a Ruby on a really hot day. Great stuff

Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yink, and The Holy Gose. Great beer. Not sure about the name though.

Rare Bird Big Kids Table. This is a hazelnut brown and it's a damn good one. I'm very impressed by this place.

I have 3 Fantasy Football drafts on Sunday one of which is at 9am. Trying to figure out what to drink at 9am. Currently I am considering going with Ballast Point Victory at Sea as it has coffee in it.

I've been living on Sierra Nevada Nooner all summer. Just a very drinkable beer good for all times. I've been working too hard to be diversified.
