This man speaks the truth.

I like MSP but I would take San Diego or Denver over it.

San Diego literally has nothing going against it other than cost of living... and we are talking dream city here I'm gathering... I've run into some, let's just say 'close minded' people who complain about Mexican culture being the dominant presence in SD but I love Mex culture so long as it isn't hostile and my experience in SD is that it is not that... quite the opposite really. In the age ole "win the lotto" dream I'd be hard pressed not to live my days out in San Diego, by far my favorite city I've been to.

Well. Some people just like having seasons. I'm not sure that anybody has their beer scene beat though.

My assistant recently returned from a wedding in Kansas City, and she was kind enough to bring me back some of Boulevard's The Sixth Glass. Easily one of the best American Quadrupels I've ever tasted. Right up there with Three Philosophers. Shame Boulevard doesn't distribute to AZ.

I saw winter in a movie once.... it did not look desirable.

I'll try to send some in the next package.

It's great for the holidays. Losing power etc does male it awful though.

What a weird coincidence that I'm wearing my San Diego shirt today.

SA has by far the better Mexican/Latin food. Do Y'all get huitlacoche over there?

I'm a major Mex food nut but I'll admit I had to google huitlacoche and I don't believe I've ever seen it out here... doesn't mean some places don't have it though... there are things, like Steak Picado for example that aren't found everywhere.

Heck man that's fine. It's better to eat some stuff before googling imho. You'd never have gotten me to try corn smut otherwise...

Boulevard is in Arizona. May not have The Sixth Glass there but they do distribute there

I highly recommend. Btw, you have any tricks for your tri tip? I think it's on sale and I wanna try something different.

Oh man, I do so many different things with tri tip...

My two favorite options:

- marinade in a good Santa Maria mix for as along as possible and smoke it for about five to six hours at ~250... (If you are thinking of cooking it tomorrow look for pre-marinaded SM style)
- make a good chimichurri sauce, marinade it as long as possible (make 2nd batch of chimichurri sauce) and grill it while continually basting it with the 2nd sauce... serve with your left over reserve. (If you're crazy like me you can actually mix the flavors of the SM and chimichurri.. I like to marinade SM style and use the chimichurri while grilling then use it as a dipping sauce... it's amazing).

Both are amazing... honestly though I love Tri Tip because it's such a quality cut and it's super diverse, you can do so much with it.

I have seen it in LA, Santa Ana and in Ontario CA. It is not common, but it can be found. I always order it when I see it, just for the kicks even though I have never had one that really was outstanding. The best tasting one I had was in Ontario, but I think that place is no longer in business.

One thing is for sure, huitlacoche looks like straight gastrointestinal diseased fecal matter. lol

Stopped by Arizona Wilderness Brewing, Barrel aged Santa Teresa Enkel. From what I can tell it is a barrel aged Belgian Pale

ETA: Also had their DC Mountain DIPA.

Any other IPA drinkers feeling IPLs lately? This Jack's Abby Hoponius Union is killer. Is this a trend happening outside Mass?
