Honestly, I think he'd do very well at UF.

edit: I also don't believe it for a second.

Agree completely. Only possibility I see is if Weis, for some reason, is forced out of KC in favor of McDaniels. Maybe Cassel forces their hand? Given their success this year though, I would think the chances of that would be very remote.

Is there another Charlie Weis out there somewhere?

I would be shocked. I just don't see him going to UF, but then again, stranger things ahve happened.

I will throw up if he goes back to any school at the college level. Didn't he say he would only go to college for ND?

I call bullsh*t on this article.

There was a sports illustrated article online somewhere recently that said Weis would be out as OC in KC in favour of McDaniel at the end of the season. It didn't speculate at all as to where he would land, but I don't think it's out of the question to think he'll be gone from KC.

As for him in Florida? No idea, seems weird but who knows where he will land if he is out at KC.

According to ESPN analysyst Chris Mortenson, it's true. Wow what a traitor. It will be tough to recruit against Weis too.

Why would Kansas City allow this to happen? Charlie has turned DeWayne Bowe, Matt Cassel and Jamal Charles into NFL stars. Granted, all are very good players and have had good years before, but each one of them improved significantly this year under Weis. I don't understand why they would allow him to walk after the success they had this year.

Why would you call him a traitor? It's not like he wanted to leave ND, we fired him. Nor is Florida even a rival of ours.

Why would he leave as the OC of the Chiefs and take a step down to become the OC of UF. Only thing I can think of is that he got a taste of the college game and needs to be involved in young mens lives.

This is not good.... They have one of the best DC's of the past decade, and now they have (like him or not) a D*** GOOD OC with Weis... Regardless of how Weis did as a HC, he proved that he could run an offense at an elite level.

Well, you can't blame Charlie in any capacity if he takes the job. He initially joined the college ranks to coach ND, and he was fired. Whether you believe it was warranted or not is irrelevant. The point is the University chose to part ways with him and he has every right to take a job like Florida.

I could see someone being upset if he went to SC or UM, but taking a job, which is looking like it will produce a lot of good results, should not bring the ire of the fans.

As said whoever called him a traitor is an idiot. ND parted ways with him for one, and for two Florida is anything but a rival.

Interesting to see how it works out. KC has had a hell of a year and Cassel is very good.

Don't you understand? He's going to recruit against us, and continue Florida's trend of stealing recruits from ND

You really think Weiss would be out at KC? Or that he would come back to college ball if he was? More dollars in the NFL says they can keep him. Maybe he is just renegotiating his deal after a stelar season. Major turn around and he was a big part of it!

This makes no sense. It makes no sense that KC would fire him after he completely turned that team's offense around and has them in the playoffs. It makes no sense that he would go back to college when he surely could get a job in the NFL.

The only part that makes sense is Florida wanting him.

Florida is going to be scary.

No reason to be mad at CW, we fired him and he's likely getting forced out of KC.

I think we know what plays he will run. Screen, screen, draw, punt. Screen, fade, draw, punt. And so on.

this will be a huge pick up for the gators.

1.He develops QBs
2.Matt Cassels is playing like a pro-bowl QB this year
3.He is a great offensive recruiter
4.Its obivous he likes the college atmosphere more then pro

P.S. notre dame fired him, he was fired because he couldnt coach defense or lead a football team, he wont have to do either of those if he takes this job

Not good...he'll steal our recruits. Hopefully he's just angling for more money from the Chiefs. And if I'm the Chiefs I'll give him want he wants.

I see it as a good opportunity for negative recruiting. "You see the OC you would be playing under? He gave Notre Dame its worst 4 seasons ever. Do you want to be stuck in that class at Florida?"
