Ill be honest this is hard to take. Really down about Malik, Folston, Jones and Crawford. This could have been a great year. Van Gorder blows and there is no hope to outscore anyone..

Who is Howard and why is he playing BC all by himself?

The 90s vocal group Shai thinks you suck and they have a message for you... "Baby I'm NOT yours."

My opinion on this is that it's not as bad as you think it is. We have to realize that it is really hard to win football games at this level no matter who the opponent is.
I don't know, that line has been BK's go to line but come on. We're 6 years in, we shouldn't be taken to the wire by teams like UVA regularly anymore. Yes, once...maybe twice a season you'll be pushed unexpectedly but this game damn near sums up the BK era in 60 minutes. Sloppy defensive play, getting torched by some nobody QB with a weak arm, injuries, head scratching play calling, zero ability to stick with the run consistently, etc. We'll probably lose to a scrub Pitt team and be pushed by UMASS too. I don't know what it is, but BK doesn't seem to have the goods to take us over the top. He's starting to remind me of a less successful Mark Richt.

Kizer is a big strong armed kid who just led his team down the field for a big win. He is a serviceable QB with intangibles. Coach his ass up, get our offensive line that everyone raves about to keep him on his feet, and keep feeding Prosise. We've got 3 friggin offensive coordinators for gods sake. Coach the shit out of this kid and roll the dice. We won games with a weak armed statue. I'm not ready to give up yet. We scored 34 points pretty much going 0 for 3rd down.
Van Gorder I stills zero confidence at this point. NFL pedigree my ass, he's being made to look silly by college schemes. I'm tired of hearing how difficult this defense is to grasp. There's talent out there, put them in a damn position to win.

So it show's it can be done...why lose faith? What kinda fan are you??

Only awful in your eyes. Thanks for reporting and banning me for less than you've done.

Awful in a lot of people's eyes. There was a time when I was a mod that you lead the league in reported posts. That's why your first post made me laugh.

And why do you keep saying I lost faith? Where did I say that? I said bad shit keeps happening to us (it does). I said I was feeling out of it because of that devastating injury (I was). I never said I lost faith (I didn't). But nice try.

And btw, I can name 5,000 teams that didn't win a title after their FIRST string QB went down before you can name 2 teams that won with their third string QB.

Let's be real for a second: things were $hitty even with Zaire today. A $hit team was taking us to the wire. No excuses, this program isn't there, and it actually isn't even close. Blame injuries, whatever, but schematically and emotionally this team is a goddamn train wreck, just like I am right now

I'll be real on the other side of the fence.

ND was favored by 10-13 pts. On the road against a team with EVERYTHING to play for, especially their coach's job. Classic trap game with a top 10-ish team coming next week, with ND coming off the high of killing Texas. Didn't play well, no doubt, but STILL, we were about to go up by 12 when Zaire went out. Defense had stepped up big time and we had all the momentum, so covering the spread was well in range despite our let down.

Championship teams have these types of games every single year. Doesn't mean they suck, doesn't mean they have massive problems. I thought we would have been fine this year if Zaire didn't get hurt. Now I'm not so sure, but I'm willing to give Kizer a shot. Kid can wing it, that's for sure. Can he hit guys consistently? Can he run and not get hurt? Can he run the full offense? Not probable, but we'll see when he gets thrown into the fire next Saturday.

When will we put to rest the 'every team gets up for ND, every team brings their best'. That may be the case. But enough of the fucking excuses. Shut the fuck up and win.

LOL...cool story bro. All bullshit, but cool story nonetheless.

Truth is, you DID have a ton of reported posts, and you were asked several times to stop ripping on a 17 year-old KID (why did put "bashing" in quotes...you DID do that), no matter how much you hated him and the dad. It was explained multiple times that we didn't want this site to be one where we ripped on recruits, especially because so many recruits and their families read this site. You couldn't control yourself though, thus the temporary banning. That one was on you.

And LOL at you...you now fully expect the coach that you you think sucks to take us to a natty with his 3rd string QB, just because it was done once this millennium. Makes sense.

Actually the truth is i still dont buy it...I got reps for what i said about Dieter. I put BASHING in quotes because that was your reason for banning me. Funny that i have zero negtive reps except from mods or former mods as a result from a negative rep i gave them

Very petty

Hahahahaha, you want to live in a continuous state of oblivion, be my guest. Must be a fun way to live (byw...just a little edumacation for ya - just because someone gives you reps for something, doesn't automatically mean that no one could dislike what you said. It doesn't work that way. That's like saying that the reps I got for banning your ass automatically means you and everyone else agreed with it).

Still makes absolutely no sense to put it in quotes, but whatever.

I find it hilarious that the guy who uses neg reps gets mad at people for neg repping him back. Perhaps the people that neg-repped you back were laughing that you would use such a childish tactic and did it to see your reaction. It obviously worked if you're still taking about it 5 years later LOL.

Every fucking year, bad shit happens. Debilitating shit. I can't believe how out if it I feel now. It just never stops. Zaire, the one guy we couldn't afford to lose. It never fails. FML

Cursed

Someone from ND sold their soul to the devil

Who was that Michigan fan that hid that...I don't even know what it was, but he hid some bad mojo in the locker room a few years ago. Maybe it was some kind of witch doctor curse...Michigan would suck after the curse was laid, but the Irish wouldn't be able to stay healthy as a result.

this is not about Zaire and it's not about bad luck. This team's destiny was sealed when Golson transferred and Bryant didn't qualify. If you're going into a season counting on your #1 players at the 3 key skill positions to magically avoid getting hurt, you're not that good a team.

ND is not that good a team. And it's not bad luck. It's a structural problem - when something disastrous happens every single year, it's no longer a fluke - it's a regularity, it's a structural problem. In this case, the problem is that to get great players BK has to take kids who have a 50/50 chance of not making it. When they don't make it, the team is vulnerable - you end up hoping against all odds that your running QB won't get hurt, or that your workhorse RB won't need a down off, etc. You'll get lucky sometimes, and the injury bug will miss you or a backup will step up - but when your depth vanishes each year b/c of ineligible players or transfers, it means your program isn't that great. You may have a miracle year where everything goes your way, but the foundation is not solid enough for sustained success.

That's the state of ND football.

Terrible post. Why lose faith?

tOSU won the NC with a 3rd stringer

We did win lol

I believe in the Irish men on the field. They are recruited for what they are, who they are, and what they can be. Wimbush, Kizer, and Zaire are/were recruited by many teams as Leaders, QBs, and the men they are.

The Irish will continue to march on.

And I will follow with head held high.

Diz,
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!

We have priests on have at ND. Might be time to cleanse the facilitates abs say some extra prayers intended on shouting out and rebuking curses.

At least Auburn won. Tennessee had about 20 different plays on which they could have won the game, and didn't make one of them - blowing a 17 point lead at home in the process. (Plus they cost me money, which is the real reason I care.)

So, who is Kizer's backup? Does this mean Wimbush's red shirt is done too?

This will be interesting. You can always redshirt next year if Zaire and Kizer are back and both healthy.

I think you only play him if we are so far "up" in a game that you don't want to risk Kizer getting injured and I wonder how many games this is actually possible this year.

Running upright had nothing to do with someone rolling over his ankle. If he broke a rib, or popped a shoulder I'd agree.

Point wasn't so much where the injury took place. Just that one of the things everyone loved about Malik was that he ran hard. A serious injury was a virtual guarantee (see; Ohio State).

In general, I don't like "running quarterbacks." I know it is a college thing, and I am partial to the pro game so maybe that is part of it. I like a QB that can run when he gets out of the pocket and things break down, but running the QB by design between the tackles is just dumb. He is likely the only guy on your team you REALLY can't afford to lose to injury or you forfeit your ability to move the ball in the air, and if you can't do that you can't win in modern football.
