Our race is tight, Tillis is not favored and Hagan is a worthless hag. Part of the "problem" is the Libertarian candidate taking away from Tillis much more than Hagan.

I am mostly annoyed by Hagan focusing so much of her campaign lit on teacher pay and Tillis's record (which isn't actually that bad) on the issue. 1) How the hell is that a US Senate issue? 2) WTF is her proposal to do anything about it?

Nope, she just attacks blindly and has never offered a single thing she actually stands for (or has championed) because she is too busy playing hot potato with Obamacare and other liberal issues she has been a good Reid foot soldier for.

So if you have three choices, prefer two strongly over one, it is nuts to vote for the guy you prefer with no chance of winning if the other guy is running neck and neck with the on you really don't like?

Very true. My hope, which is just that, is that a third party could really meet the needs of the masses. It has been said on here numerous times that many Americans fall into the moderate area of the political spectrum, and if that third party can deliver in the moderate middle, it could really do wonders for the people to not feel disenfranchised and used, etc.

I voted straight 3rd party/Independent. I'm not sure a 3rd party would really "meet the needs of the masses" but my hope is a true 3rd party would force major changes in the system we currently have. Doubt it happens though.

I voted, but I'm so jaded by the last ten years or so that i could easily just have not taken part and been fine with it....Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I don't get the "just vote" thing. If I am uninformed on a ballot or issue, I leave it blank. Is this like the "participation" trophy phenomenon in sports?

^ This.

Please don't "just vote." Our country, states, and our communities are certainly not better off because ignorant and/or stupid people felt the pressure to go vote.

Besides the governor, senate, U.S. rep, and state rep, there were 4 constitutional amendments and 1 referendum on the ballot. I, as an informed voter, still did not vote on 1 of the amendments and in 1 of the races because I didn't feel informed enough to truly make an informed vote on what is best for myself and my fellow constituents.

the Tea Party? :p

The only way a third party/option would arise would be if Corporate america somehow fell out with the existing two and decided they needed a new puppet.

Winner.

The only way to change the system is to stop participating. The system itself eventually corrupts all who come within its reach.

In my case I voted for a third party which has a strong showing in my state but I realize even with that I am still participating in the system. So I need to take my own advice!

I just stumbled on ballotpedia.org Seems they have some decent stuff there for those playing catch up for the votes. Also has links to other sites.

I voted because a bunch of posters on a Notre Dame fan site that I've never met told me to.

Best reason ever?

Yours truly is having a blast today.

Yours truly discovered voting irregularity.

I have been pissed since they require ID to vote, so I insist on showing them my CC Permit.

Anyway, I live in an oddball precinct. (What else?) We have a unique combination of city and school district. Our school district is in a fight to make up some of the money the state has taken from the schools. (You know the money that the state was to administer because the inequity in Ohio schools was found to be unconstitutional.?)

Anyways, I truck in around noon, preparing my dramatic protest of the egregious violation of mine and others civil rights, and there are about seven people all confused. I know normal, right? But they were all confused the same way!

So I listened as I did my stick; my card produced the right ballot, for the right precinct on my machine. But all that came before me had no bond issue on theirs! And I came in about noon.

Stay tuned at six for more details! Was it just a single or couple if mindless campaign workers? Or was it . . . a . . . conspiracy?!?!??

I get all my advice by channeling Jim Morrison, Jerry Garcia and Vassar Clements.

There are others in the mix but these three are the elected representatives.

FiveThirtyEight’s Senate Forecast | FiveThirtyEight

So looks like the over/under on Republican Senators after today is right at 52. Trend has been very strong in R column the last few weeks.

No voter ID in North Carolina until 2016 so I like Hagen's chances to hold on while she looks like about a 1 point favorite going in.

Yeah I don't understand the problem with having ID to vote. Can someone explain why they feel it's unjust to have you license/state ID with you?
