A lot of you read too much into every little thing these kids say. All he said was that ND and OSU are similar because the coaches and tradition.
That doesn't sound ****in good at all.
Here's the exact quote:
"Notre Dame is very similar to Ohio State," he said. "They have a lot of tradition and I have a good relationship with Coach Alston and Coach Diaco. Ohio State is in a college town and there is a lot to do. Notre Dame is more quite. They are very similar schools and it's going to be hard to differentiate them until I take my officials and figure out which one is more comfortable."
He said they are very similar twice. I don't think he said they are similar just because of coaches and tradition. He thinks they both have "very good academics" as well. The only distinction made is Columbus vs South Bend
Just when a recruit says "yeah _____ is a lot similar to _____" it usually isn't a good sign, especially with Notre Dame and how we kinda recruit with being "different" especially from large state schools like OSU
Follow recruiting long enough and there start to be a lot of tell tale signs. As philly said, whenever a recruit says ND is "different" or "unique" it is a positive. Whenever a recruit says something like "both ND and Ohio State/Miami/South Carolina/insert whatever school you want offer great educations" it does not bode well.
There are a lot of other minor red flags but I won't belabor the point right now as it would be really pointless to do so.

Agreed. If there is no distinction being made for education, etc. it doesn't bode well. DC was downplaying it. A long way to go though.
So is his good relationship with elston or Alford?quote confusesme
Nonsense. This kid is new to recruiting and getting to know the schools. It has been overwhelming to him to say the least. It reminds me of Ishaq Williams who was leaning to PSU but his father realized he didn't really understand the real picture of what ND had to offer. Hence the 4:30 meeting with Diaco. Holley's HS coach and uncle are pretty much in our corner and in time I think Holley will get a better understanding of what ND is all about. People just need to chill out. It's good news that he'snot deciding until much later.
That sounds like something Hitler would say.
I assume that's a direct quote STL. That bolded part tells you a lot about how much attention was being paid to the details. Here's the exact quote:

The good news is he's taking his OVs first
Once he visits ND, he'll see the difference between ND and OSU.
I think he's already visited.
Top 4 per Wiltfong of Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and Ohio State (no order).
PSU likely 5th
