You can't have that many teams in a conference and not have divisions. Only way it's even remotely possible is if they eliminated all out of conference games from the schedule. Or I suppose you could have a Big Ten Football playoff instead of a championship game.

No divisions and you only play half the teams in the conference? Suddenly you have Purdue playing in the Conference Championship because they didn't have to play pOSU, Michigan or Wisconsin in a fluke scheduling year.

So the division model where Iowa or Northwestern play in the championship is better?

ACC just unveiled a no division schedule with 15 teams. It is most definitely possible with scheduling agreements/pods/protected rivals instead of divisions.

Why are people so rock hard for Stanford? I DGAF if we ever play stanford again. They are hardly some kind of historic rival… we only really started playing them in the 90s..

For me it's simple.

Pretty much every top recruit who is putting a real emphasis on education is looking at us and Stanford.

I want to punch them in the mouth every chance we get.

I don't think you can stick Notre Dame in the current East division, but it's also hard to break it up considering the rivalries in there.

I'd anticipate they go to pods with protected games or something
