USC stole Amir Carlisle this weekend and now Anthony Sarao. Harbaugh's departure is starting to show up.

Can anybody explain the U$C probation/scholarship reduction/loophole situation? They definitely are not recruiting like a team on probation and limited scholarships.

they are appealing the sanctions so they can recruit like normal... which is still cheating.

The appeal will be resolved on the 22nd. It will be interesting to see what happens to the class after that

That's what I've been wondering depending on how the appeal comes down.
Does it affect this class because it was decided before NSD?

They could sign 50 kids this year, as long as they drop enough kids already on scholarship to get back down below 75 or whatever they are limited to?

I said earlier last year Harbaugh would not be able to sustain the recruiting or he would leave. He was just passing thru Stanford. This one was easy to see.

Right. Read that EE's count toward previous year and that once they subtract them, there will be only 15 to sign in Feb. They have 8 or nine I think. The max is 75 total schollies in the program.

They also have 4 JUCOs to replace some of the upperclassmen that transferred.

They also have a pair of "soft" verbals that I suspect see the growing numbers and don't want to left without a chair when the music stops.

IF Southern Cal were to lose their appeal, what would happen?

Any chance Amir says to himself "this fall I'll be taking my talents to South bend."

They now have 25 verbals with several recruits still showing interest. Are they going to start rescending offers to llower star committs to make room. This is getting ridiculous.

That's what happens when you have Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron run a program. They are going to unethically recruit a lot of talent and not give two ****s about burning bridges or doing something most respectable universities would frown at. LK is not going to make it past year 3... he is not the kind of guy Pat Haden wants representing the university.

it appears that USC is recruiting unaffected by the sanctions (which are on appeal). But that is exactly what USC wants, to appear completely unaffected by the sanctions. That has been kiffin's MO from the start. USC is too big for the sanctions to affect them. What do you think he is telling recruits? Kiffin is pushing the NFL and he is telling them the same thing he said to Seantrell Henderson, "...there will be no sanctions."

...totally agree...this does not seem consistant with Hayden...or shall I say, what i thought of Hayden. Seems to me he'd be concerned about that kind of PR...maybe not...I guess I just thought the guy's role there was to rehab the image...If I'm him, I'm putting a choker on LK, and periodically yankin it just so he knows I can...
