I think SC will have a much better line than most think

LT = Bobby Haskins - 3 yr starter at UVa, HM ALL-ACC.
LG = Andrew Vorhees - 4 yr starter - AP Third Team All American
C = Brett Neilon - 3 yr starter - PFF First Team ALL-PAC -534 snaps w/o a sack (led the country)
RG = Justin Dedich - 7 starts over the past two years at OC & RG. PFF ALL-PAC HM
or
RG = Jonah Monheim - 7 starts at RT as a RS Fr.
RT = Courtland Ford - Started 8 games at LT in '21 as a RS Fr.
or
RT = Jonah Monheim - See above.

If they stay healthy, they'll be good.

Yup, recruiting rankings only matter until production kicks in.

Eh, it'll be better than our pre VT 2021 OL was, but I don't think it'll be much better than our post VT OL. Granted, having a dual threat QB will of course help.

Wouldn't be suprised if they were decent right now, but my point was that they aren't reloading with anyone. Maybe they're able to hit the transfer portal hard, but the last few years have been bad with numbers and quality. They really need those guys to all be healthy and to hit.

Being a multi year starter like some of those likely sounds better on paper than in practice. There’s a reason they haven’t made the jump to the NFL.

I think those guys have all hit but I'm with you 100%, they can't lose any of their moneymakers this year.

Heck, I’d take this line over OSU’s at the moment

I'd caution conflating staying in college with not having a quality line. Look at last year's Joe Moore winners. They are loaded with guys who could've declared for the draft but only Stueber & Vastardis went after running out of eligibility and Stueber went in the 6th or 7th round while Vastardis didn't get drafted.

None of Hayes, Keegan or Zinter are 3-4 year starters. The main point being there are a ton of 3 year starters out there with COVID eligibility. That doesn’t make all these 23 year olds good, see Josh Lugg. At some point many of these kids reached a diminishing return of adding value to being a returning starter.

it was funny watching irish breakdown yesterday on youtube after getting home from work because Driskell was just hammering USC coach Riley for so called cheating going on right now when it comes to football recruiting. one of the things he talked about was the USC staff along with the staff of another school contacting the Pitt WR in the transfer portal before he even put his name in for the portal which is a violation of ncaa rules and talked about how those two schools shouldn't be allowed to get him because of the contact thing

I would probably agree.

What would be useful would be to examine the PFF ratings.

Data is more informative.

I hate the attention QBs get when teams win but in our case,… yep,… Need a QB before we start counting titles

Vorhees and Neilon were fairly solid, however I'm not buying the hype with Haskins. ND's front abused him badly when they played UVA last year and he's prone to getting bullied. I can easily see Foskey or Mills eating his lunch again.

Being all-ACC doesn't say much to me, because the OL play from the ACC last year was really putrid for the most part.

They were fairly solid for the season or fairly solid against ND?

He was an Honorable mention all ACC and was 11th in votes among all ACC OTs

Yeah, I didn't notice the HM at the time, but how the hell is 11th among ACC OT's an honorable mention? That is a really low bar they're setting. So he'd be listed as a 6th string OT in the all-ACC team?

Fairly solid for the season.

Against ND, I'd say they looked fairly underwhelming. Jayson and MTA abused them a few times, despite ND playing a lot of 3-down and off the line.

There is only 1 4 star OL from Cali besides Mauigoa and he’s committed to Stanford.
