It's not front page on the espn mobile site. Also I avoid espn at all cost.

Chastises media for not talking about story. Doesn't check largest sports media outlet. Opinion checks out.

That was kind of my thought. I mean, when I was 17 I used to jump from my gf's 2nd story window all the time when her father would wake up early in the morning. I never sustained any injuries, although I had soft grass to land on. I imagine if you do it right jumping from a 3rd story window isn't a whole lot worse. The trick is to hang from the window ledge before you let go, that way you don't have to fall quite as far. When you hit the ground you have to try and roll.

My brother (who is in decent shape) fell off of a 3 story scaffolding and broke a leg, shattered one heal (literally, they scraped it all out and replaced it with hard plastic) and broke both ankles.

True story.

To be fair, athleticism aside, there is a huge difference between falling and jumping- mostly the anticipation and preparation of landing.

To be fair, there is a huge difference between the laundry list of injuries my brother suffered at that height, and being able to land and run away from that height.

I'm having a hard time gauging your tone, so I'm just gonna say, "OK".

"I appreciate that Josh has now admitted that he lied and has apologized. Although this type of behavior is out of character for Josh, it is unacceptable. Honesty and integrity must be at the center of our program. I believe Josh will learn from this. I hope that he will not be defined by this incident, and that the Trojan Family will accept his apology and support him."

Translation.........As soon as Josh's ankles heal adequately he'll regain his starting position on the team.

Honesty and integrity at the center of that program? That's a laugh.

Damn, that sucks. Okay, jumping from a 3rd story I guess can be way worse than the 2nd story, depending on conditions and what you're landing on. I guess what I should of said is it's not unfathomable that you can walk away with just ankle sprains after jumping from a 3rd story window.

I had a drunken fall of 15-20 feet landing on my back on solid concrete and came away with elbow scabs and some muscle soreness. Scared the living shit out of my friends though.

Leave it to ESPN to make me sympathize with USC. Apparently Josh Anderson on ESPNews made several disparaging remarks toward them, including: "USC is a Clown college," "not sure USC is Fighting On right now," and "UCLA is the team in LA,while USC is the laughing stock of the country."

After the national media's gleeful besmirching of Manti's name, I cannot stand listening to such sanctimonious bull. I find the media frenzies that surround these events now sickening.

And the national media, including SB Nation, didn't follow through on the lessons we should've learned from Manti Te'o.

How are these two situations comparable? Shaw lied to save his own skin. Manti was the victim of a malicious hoax and our blood thirsty media. Perhaps the lesson is to start doing journalism and stop printing press releases, ya fookin' hacks.

aha reminds me of a story i saw on reddit where some guy claims a drunk russian guy fell out of a building and was so drunk his muscles were all relaxed, the impact didn't affect him or break any bones. He walked away despite falling 50 feet onto concrete. His wife didnt believe him so he took the elevator back up and jumped out the window again just to prove it to her :D

I read this story too. Don't tell a Russian what he can't do when drunk. He'll show you all right.

Can't be any of that at all : See media jumps gun, makes fools out of themselves printing rubbish over leaked information on ND call to NCAA.

Because in both situations the media did not do their due diligence, whether the source of the information knew they were lying or not.
