Reports that Jesse Scroggins is gone from the program, likely academics

Does this mean Max Browne starts as a frosh or not?

Scroggins got passed by Kessler and Wittek. More likely he was pushed out.

I know I'll be accused of bias, but I am positive it's grades. There have been rumblings about a transfer since before NSD this year. And it really wouldn't be beneficial to force Scroggins out when our only other two options would be guys in the same class. More than likely forcing the loser of the QB competition to transfer and forcing us to use another scholarship on a QB or be left with just 2 scholarship QB's on roster for 2013.

I think you can consider this USC related....

Former USC Football Recruit Who Served Five Years For Rape Exonerated Because Accuser Admits Attack Never Happened

How freaking horrible/crazy is this? Can you imagine being in his shoes? It's people like Wanetta Gibson and Crystal Mangum who make me sick to my stomach. Make up stories/accusations for their own ends (or for no reason at all) and don't give a sh*t if it ruins the life of someone else. This kid could've been, at worst, getting a college education... and at best playing on Sundays... who knows now if he'll ever have a chance for either.

Terrible sutff... actually had a LONG discussion on this subject in Philosophy class a couple months back... which is worse, raping someone, or stating you were raped when the person you accuse never touched you?

made for some great discussion on both sides.

This is 100% true from everything I've heard. This has been going on for quite a while, and Jesse himself had admitted that he needed to take academics more seriously. Rob is correct on this...

He is currently training and working out in hopes of suiting up one day on Sundays. Saw it on GMA before I left for work this morning. Horrible how crap like this happens to good people.

USC QB Jesse Scroggins set to transfer as has been expected.

One more open slot now for the Trojans

I've always felt they are both about equal. What did the majority of the class think?

Gonna be another big couple weeks for the trogans. They're about to pick up 3 more 4-star recruits: Fallah, Ramsey, and Rodgers. That'll give them 16 verbals, and put them at #1 on Rivals. They'll be able to take 18, possibly 19 if one of their current guys doesnt qualify (they'll just take another EE). It'll be interesting to see them nearly full, and what they'll do when a new stud wants to join and they are full, and what they'll do when current vernals start taking visits.

My question is what happens to other premium DBs out west after they land super-stud Ramsey? Does ND move into a power position with Priest Willis or does USC still have room to play keep away and fit Priest in their class? Do guys like LJ Moore stay out west with Cal/UCLA or take their talents elsewhere? Going to be quite interesting to follow. Washington has already benefited from their constricted class.

Throw in there one of the best recruiters in the country and a former USC staff.

LSU board seems to think that they have a good chance at Willis even if Ramsey doesn't commit to USC. If USC gets Ramsey, then LSU thinks they are in the power position. Obviously I take it with a grain of salt since it's a LSU board. Does anyone have any new insights on Priest?

Edit:
I do see that 247 has only USC and LSU listed as "Warmer" with Nebraska and ND a notch below at "Warm"

If USC is full than LSU will lead with Nebraska and ND the competition IMO

I have to say, Lane Kiffin has turned out to be perfect for USC at this particular time. If you have to navigate the roster limitations they are currently dealing with, you definitely want someone like Kiffin, who was fortunate enough to be born without either a moral compass or an ounce of integrity. He is doing a masterful job manipulating their scholarship situation.

HoosierIrish has a point, (good name by the way)
11 verbals... + Fallah, Ramsey, and Rodgers = 16 verbals???

Are there two names I am missing?

USC definitely feels it has an excellent chance with Willis even with Ramsey's verbal. We'd still take Willis no matter who else verbals at the DB positions

I would say Goodman. As of right now he has a spot, but supposedly his clock is ticking.

Couldn't Goodman not having a spot sway Willis towards LSU?

No. The Goodman/Willis "package deal" is actually one sided. Willis doesn't see them as a package, Goodman does.

Basically, if Goodman wants a spot, he'd have to commit soon. From what I'm hearing, the coaches won't give him the same amount of time to commit, that they will for Willis.
