As much as I'd rather the tougher part of the schedule be later in the year, I really do not like Navy right before Miami.

O'Malley said during the II podcast, he was hearing it would be Oct 24th. The breakdown of games and what he was being told is listed below. I think there was some movement with SMU and the bye week. I believe previously they would have had to play 10 straight weeks before a bye.
  1. Sept 6th Wisconsin
  2. Sept 12th Rice
  3. Sept 19th MSU
  4. Sept 26th Purdue
  5. Oct 3rd UNC
  6. Oct 10th Stanford
  7. Oct 17th BYE
  8. Oct 24th BYU
  9. Oct 31st Navy
  10. Nov 7th Miami
  11. Nov 14th SMU
  12. Nov 21st BC
  13. Nov 28th Syracuse
Not a murderer's row don't get me wrong, but still a very respectable and you never know who will or will not be better. SMU was in the playoff two years ago for example

I wonder if it's gonna be tough to get tickets for this game? 62k+ stadium with ND coming in to play.
Expecting a crazy expensive ticket. One of their biggest home games ever and they are coming off a 12 win season.

Oct. 17th. I'm guessing this game needed to be set before B12 scheduling.

"The Cougars will welcome the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, October 17, during the 2026 season. BYU will return to South Bend in 2027."

To be clear, this is the only report with a date.
Better sources than O'Malley et al.

Did the staff leak the wrong date to Prister et al. as punishment?
It sounded like O'Malley gets his info from someone that ends up having to work events i.e. traffic, security, etc. and they were trying to piece everything together based on some blackout dates. It's just how I interpreted it.

Props to BYU for even scheduling us. Most B12 schools purposely have a joke of a OOC. Like…

If we are TRULY on a revenge tour and “leaving no doubt”, none of these games should really be concerning or in doubt.
Yes but it’s never the single game,… I’ve been saying for years it’s easier to survive a top ten matchup surrounded by complete cup cakes than it is to win a run of four straight above average or better teams

The cool part of the B12 being garbage is that it's hard to tell which teams are rando OoC and which are conference mates.

Like, if you told me Abilene Christian or SHSU joined the B12, I might take a minute to chew on that.

Big 12 is so hard to predict. Maybe Arizona State will be good? Houston and maybe Cincy are OK. Otherwise that schedule looks like a joke. I’m sure their hick coach will take a few pot shots at us anyway.

Take the spin with an grain of salt as this guy is a clear USC mouthpiece but:

“A person familiar with the discussions not authorized to talk about them publicly told The Times that Notre Dame is now willing to discuss playing the game earlier in the season, which had previously been a sticking point. Given future scheduling agreements, it’s possible that the two schools still won’t meet again on a football field until the 2030 season.”

no school has better alums to advise on spinning PR than USC. Until we see something from the ND side I’ll just assume they are trying to save their ass from continuing to look like pussies.

Like playing Week 0 which only recently was allowed by the NCAA?

They want a week 0 game, they can have it once every other year with them coming to SB much later in the season than they ever want the other years... it's a give and take. If not,... fuck them right the hell off.

Honestly I think they should tell them to kick rocks unless they actually have issues getting anyone else on the schedule.

The South Bend in October LA in November arrangement was good for all parties involved for 65 years, and only became a problem when Notre Dame won 11 out of the last 15 in the series. Let them take their ball and go home and we'll find other teams to play

I know I've said it before in this thread but I just can't help but laugh at the imagined reaction and outcry from the masses if Notre Dame proposed changing the rivalry in the 2000s when Carroll's teams were bending them over and going in dry for ten years
