FSU looks like a really legit team in this game. They have some talent; only a question on whether either of their QBs is a true number 1.

I wonder if that means Clemson is not quite as good as everyone expects or whether they just haven't woken up yet in this game.

OKST looks to be taking TCU out behind the wood shed up 28-9.

ARK up 17-14 on Ole Miss

And Indiana was up but now trailing Iowa 21-17

IF TCU loses, and one of the LSU/Alabama having to lose today, this just further cements ND's claim for the top 4. If Clemson loses to FSU, I could see ND moving up to number 3 after this week.

If Clemson loses, that would diminish our strength of schedule. We could drop if they lose, IMO.

Could, but let's take a look:

- Baylor won by 7 against a bad Kansas State (score is closer than the game, but oh well, KSU is bad)
- Florida won 9-7 against the worst team in the SEC on their Homecoming
- TCU is getting throttled by Okie Light
- Iowa looks pedestrian against IU

That leaves:

- Michigan State: who could lay an egg against Nebraska
- Okie Light, who could be vaulted up there if they hold off TCU
- Stanford, who pounded a crappy Colorado team

*I Think we are fine, for now, regardless of the Clemson score

Doubt it. We weren't #5 just because the committee likes Clemson. They are impressed with our team and our wins. We just went out and beat a tough team on the road no way we drop just because Clemson loses.

True. Best case Scenario Clemson losing would Be them dropping to 3rd and us at 4th, With Osu and Lsu/bama winner at 1 and 2. But I could see Baylor jumping us at 4 if that were the case.

I don't think so, FSU is ranked and that is only one loss for Clemson. They fall to somewhere between #6 and #10 at worst; still a solid team. I don't see much change to SOS overall with a single Clemson loss. I would worry more if they lost a second time at the end of the season, but by then if we win out and best Stanford it will not matter.

They will fall lower than 3. The damage our SOS takes from a Clemson loss is offset by an extra playoff spot being opened up. Also I think we are at 5 because of our total resume not just bc of Clemson being good. Ik the comitte is supposed to rerank every week, but I don't buy that for a second. It's human nature to be influenced by the rankings you already made. With ND rolling over Pitt I don't see any way they could justify dropping us.

Best case scenario is Clemson losing plus LSU/ Bama losing. We are number 3 next week.

I don't think we necessarily drop if Clemson loses, but I don't know if we move up either. Would have been nice to have some style points against Pitt today, those garbage TDs sucked.

Got to remember that we're ahead of unbeaten teams right now. I don't seriously expect Memphis to jump us, but Big 12 teams will move up. MSU could move up eventually, although probably not today since they're playing a 3-6 Nebraska team. If LSU loses close they may not drop below us, although Alabama losing would most certainly drop them and let us move up. A lot of strength of schedules are going to help other teams in November, and our schedule in November isn't very good until the final game against Stanford.

The reason I think MAYBE big 12 offenses really are that good is I can't fathom a Patterson/Bumpas defense being this bad... Maybe DB is that missed already??

I'm sorry, but if you call your defense the "Land Sharks," you shouldn't give up 45 fucking points to Arkansas, let alone anybody, at home, or on the moon.....

After he had such a rough childhood at the circus, it's great to see Dumbo find success as Clemson's coach.
