Really? Really?

He's got offers from other big programs: OSU, Arkansas, and UNC. Eltson wants him.

We do have Cowart for a couple more years, so it is an interesting offer to say the least.

That's what I'm saying...Cowart has two more years left...

Kelly knows something we don't about the number of likely available scholarships and takers.

Yep thats what I was just thinking...Mr. Floyd and Mr. Rudolph NFL bound?

I think Kelly is covering his bases, if the the NFL is the case. I expect at least one of them to stay, probably Floyd. I have no rhyme or reason for this though, just a gut feeling.

How long does it take for a draft evaluation?

I think we have a real good shot with Ishaq. Good article on ISD about his visit. Only thing that bothers me is that he visits Syracuse and Penn State immediatly after us.

Amir also visits later this week and I think with all the Harbaugh talk, we can steal him with a good visit.

Chickillo will most likely stay in Miami if they land a big name coach. Bo Pelini looks to be the early favorite from Nebraska.

Antonio Richardson is not leavind the South. Rumor around the Knoxville campus from the beat writers is he is Bama bound but Cyrus K could have an impact on that. If Cyrus goes to Bama then Antonio is staying in state.

My wishlist:
Ishaq Williams
Savon Huggins
Doran Grant
Amir Carlisle
Troy Niklas
Miles Shuler

i think kyle has a much greater upside for this years draft over floyd. reason being regardless of injury his size speed blocking ability and hands are mind blowing and nfl scouts will be ga-ga for him. (faster witten) floyd hasn't put together a full season yet, this year was close but i figure in the "new system" excuse. so body of work injury injury then new system nfl scouts want to see him put in a full season know the system and stay healthy. to be a 1st round wr must be absolutely electric. bryant(dallas) jackson(philly) fitzgerald(arizona) those guys had amazing seasons in college. waiting for floyd to put it together.

tom osborne athletic director nebraska said he didnt give permission to bo to talk to any school

And Bo Pelini responded with, "I dont need anyones permission to talk to anyone."

So I dont think that matters at all. He is denying any interview rumors at this time however so we'll see.

Bo Pelini denies he's going to interview for Miami job - NCAA Football - Sporting News

Random meandering: I was muddling through the recruiting listings and there seem to be about 17 [you might count differently] names which the cumulative knowledge of the board mention as people possibly in play. When you look at who they are, it turns out that the majority are offensive or defensive linemen [5 1/2 D & 3 1/2 O--the split person being Niklas]. This indicates to me that unless we're rather far off, Staff Kelly is still vitally interested in the Bigs even if most discussion here is about the pretty boys in the spotlight. Also Kelly offered the long snapper, which means he really wants him, and thinks he has the scholarship room.

I'm going to make an assumption that Kelly would like to take three more bigs [probably two D and one O] plus the snapper. That's four more slots. I feel that this says to me that he thinks he has two more to fill beyond that --- otherwise he wouldn't have opened up to Ray recently, nor still [apparently] be strongly pursuing people like Huggins/Carlisle and Shuler. If we assume that he's quite interested in Ray [or he wouldn't have made a recent strong pitch], then that would leave one or no scholarships for high-skill O-talent. Trying to be optimistic, and feel that Kelly has at least six to spend, I'll bet that he will be happy to take whomever pops first among the Huggins, Carlisle, Shuler set, and give up on the other two unless he can't get his count of bigs.

And of course, we are constantly surprised by him, so....

Yeah Mike, with the exception of a couple skill guys like Huggins and Carlisle, the staff is really focused on the o line and front 7 on D.

and one last [you wish, I know] thought: the places where we seem to be intensely recruiting are exactly those where we've had the de-commits. One wonders if everyone had stayed, if we'd still be recruiting "news" at all. A bit of a mind-bender to contemplate. My guess is that McDaniel might not have gotten a look, and my intuition is that that would have been one of greatest errors, as I have a clairvoyance that this guy is going to be an all-american quality back before he's done---yes, still in HS, all I'm claiming that everything about this guy yells "great"!!! Nothing against Justice but I now say, "Thank you" Mr. Hayes. If we get Ishaq and Hounsell or Chickillo, I may be saying "Thank you", Mr. Lynch [though you would have been great, too.]

Removed Miles Shuler, Updated Ishaq Williams

Aldridge and Lyons will likely be removed soon, Huggins is looking more and more like Rutgers while Scarlett appears to have Cal as his favorite.

Niklas can go either way at this point.

Lyons apparently has us in his top 4. I'm not sure that saga is completely over yet.

If Niklas doesn't go to USC I would be shocked.

I wouldn't be surprised if Niklas ends up at USC. They pay way better than anyone. Go play for a lame duck coach. They have so much talent and it won't ever pan out with that idiot coaching. I don't understand why he gets so many chances when he has proven nothing. With the exception of hammering, who was it, Western Kentucky, in his first game at Tennessee. I already hate Lane Kiffin as much if not more than Pete Carroll and I broke a flat screen over that idiot last season.

Nothing surprises me that's why. I think a lot of his decision comes down to Harbaugh. I think we have a good shot at him and I must say I believe other than Ishaq he might be the most important guy left. Just believe that he is going to be a great player. I just wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at USC, Stanford, or ND, this kids are hard to predict.

With Niklas, I really think it's down to Stanford and ND. Academics and religion are brought up in every interview with him. I think Stanford is his favorite but Harbaugh's deprture could change all of that.

I've got to think Harbaugh is leaving after the bowl game. This is the highest Stanford will ever be. He has peaked. On top of that, I had no idea football was as much of an afterthought at Stanford as it is. Talking to some of my former classmates out there for grad school now... it is apparently epic how little they care about football. Even this year when they are having a season for the ages, apparently only a small fraction of the school even cares at all.

Would you prefer to coach home games before 30K or before 100K and at your alma mater and have the chance to bring back some glory?

Stanford

Stanford

If I read correctly Stanford has a small undergraduate school, about 6000,
and a grad school of 15000. Probably no one in grad school even knows what a football looks like.

The move from there to Michigan sure would be a big step up in attendence at games. If the coach got paid by the head that would be some difference.

Since ND plays both every year we will have no way of avoiding Harbaugh.

So doing some more reading and forum lurking... apparently Harbaugh to Michigan is a done deal after the Orange bowl. Take that for what it's worth. We better be prepared for a month of hell as he comes after our recruits, but at the same thing it will be open season on Stanford guys.

Watch out for USC on Niklas (duh) but also Carlisle. Most people down in SoCal seem to think they're both locks once Harbaugh is gone.
