Grant's a long shot.

Lyons is gone, I think.

Shuler is a slot threat. Carlisle is the same.

French is a WR/OLB. Will end up as an OLB eventually.

Huggins is a pure RB. And a beast at that.

Good news, Wisconsin informed Huggins that they are full and cannot offer him another scholarship. His OV has since been cancelled

Even with Okotcha's decommit?

French could end up at WR for sure dont totally rule him out I could see carlisle at rb and is mcdaniel a solid rb I could see him at slot but we can always use athletes and competition

Kelly adds Floyd and Rudolph to his recruiting list | Inside the Irish

Lets not forget these 2 guys....apparently Kelly is recruiting them to play WR and TE, I hear they are going to start.

Clever, savvy move by Kelly. If we can get these guys to commit to play in the Sun Bowl, I bet our recruiting team rankings will shoot up. And then we could crack the top 2 to 3 spots on the most important poll in college football, ESPN's Team Recruiting Rankings. I'd actually much prefer that to any BCS Bowl.... :)

At least one OT and a pass-rusher, and add in two guys from New Jersey. Coach Kelly: Add to Cart.

Personally i would take Chickillo over Ishaq but i would take both in a heartbeat
Niklas
Carlisle
Scarlett

thats an awesome 5 to wrap up the class

I would just substitute Scarlett for Ray and I agree with you. I just think we have a better shot at Ray and I like his relentless, underdog nature.

I strongly concur with that but was it me or was Ray rushing the QB from the NT or DT spot. That part concerns me a bit because a kid his size should not be able to do that. I would have to question the competition he played. He looked like a man amongst boys but he won't be able to do that at the next level. He projects OLB? He will be a 2 year project before we know anything.

Without doubt it would take time for the staff to mold him into the projected OLB fit. But early on I could envision him in a purely pass-rushing role (i.e. Shembo), and just let him go out there and use his tenacity and natural gifts to get to the quarterback.

Great read, I really think how we play in our bowl game will affect some of the remaining recruits. Miami might only be 7-5 but beating the canes will boost our street cred!

Well said. We're starting to talk a big game a bit now we gotta finish it with a good showing in the bowl game.

I'm liking our chances with Ray, Niklas, and even Carlisle, but the others are toss ups and could go any way.

Man, that article got me excited, we already have a very good class, and any additions from that list could make it a great one!

Truth be told, I think that article is a little off base as we are not going to have room for 6 guys by my guesstimate. I think we have room for 4 tops. I expect us to get an OL, DE, Ishaq Williams and Carlisle. If we do not get Ishaq Williams I will be sorely disappointed.

Ishaq would be a huge pickup. We need as much athleticism as we can get on defense with the schedule we have coming up the next few years...Tough!!

I would be happy with Shuler though. Tough to find that type of game changing speed. Can't go wrong with him anywhere on the field. he would be a huge help in the return game possibly too, an area that could definitely use some improvement, especially on punts.

That was a great read and really got me excited. I find it interesting that the article left of Anthony Chickillo as a target and had Antonio Richardson as a target still.

I agree with Irishlax that we probably only have 4 spots maybe 5 with EJ being dismissed from school.

Now I know no one has SIGNED yet, but literally a year ago so many people were so worried about BK and his ability to recruit. How are you feeling now? You gotta like the fact that we are getting very good recruits and have had a fighting chance at a number of elites

I was never worried. Recruiting is about hard work and salesmanship. Clearly, we knew Kelly had both.

ISD is saying that we have offered the nation's best long snapper. Bryce Haynes.

Kelly is certainly recruiting differently than Weis did, at least to this point. He's not getting as close with the top top end talent (i.e. top ten players nationally), but it going hard after very athletic kids that are difficult to pigeonhole into a position and project to grow into something special.

Take Ishaq for example, he's way to light to play defense right now and currently also plays tight end on his team. He is, however, a freakish athlete. It's a similar situation with Niklas, Springmann etc. Even the kid from Iowa we missed out on was similar. They are all great athlete's capable of playing multiple positions with a plan for them to get molded at ND.

I like his plan, it just remains to be seen if it works.

Why in the world would Kelly recruit a long snapper? We all know this team won't be punting the ball when he gets the freak athletes to learn his system.
