I heard that news as well. Unreal, the guy is in talks with a pro football team and hasn't played football in years......must be one hell of an athletic talent!!!! I am excited to see him play football!!

What I don't get is that he is a pocket passer, hasn't thrown a football in four years, and Michigan is willing to give him a scholly to play one year of football??

What does that say about RichRod and their QB situation?

They must really not wanna put Tate out there because they know that at his size this year, he is going to be killed.

Hey i like the guy and wish him all the best. Hope he does win the starting job at Michigan and takes them back to a national power next year, so we can beat national power.... and i actually hope michigan beats the hell out of OSU. And no relation to Ron Powlus, they have the same sounding name but its actually spelled different to answer Leahys lads question.

Last year I won a bet with my wife on the Michigan game and got to decorate our den into a ND room. all of her family are wolverine fans. This year I bet her sisters husband that the loser has to fly the opponents flag on the house til the end of the season. We better effing win!
I could not bear having a big gay M flying from my flagpole.
I dont care who their qb is WE BETTER BEAT THAT AZZ!!!

There are quotes from Tate's facebook saying he was very unhappy, and would transfer if he didnt start cuz of Paulus

Wow. Kinda babyish I guess, but then again, his coach just totally laid it out there to the world that he wasn't completely sold on Tate. If he was, he would have never offered this guy a scholly to play ONE year of football. And this was after Tate supposedly played his ass off in the spring game. Yes, we all know that one hit could possibly break him in two, but still, the way this played out was just wrong. DickRod dropped the ball on this one IMO, esp the way Paulus suddenly is out of their plans. (which goes to your facebook point)...

Rod got out of West Virginia at the right time...Slaton and White could make quite a few coaches look brilliant. Wonder if the Michigan faithful are experiencing buyer's remorse?

Apparently, Forcier said something about Paulus and how his career was going to be ruined by coming to Michigan, and said, "Have fun being my backup" or something to that effect.

Looks like Forcier's continuing a time-honored Wolverine tradition...the arrogant and cocky freshman quarterback.

God this does make Michigan look stupid. Oh well. Would have been interesting to see if Paulus could see the field and play for them. Guess we will never know now and our dline will just have to beat the hell out of whoever their QB is instead. I really like paulus, hopefully he makes something happen in the college football world too. If not, he has the Duke degree to fall back on so no worries, and i still really admire the guy.

I actually went to school about 45 minutes from where Paulus went to highschool and the kid excelled enough in a spread-option offense enough to be named the Gatorade National Player of the Year his senior year and was an EXTREMELY highly recruited player, including a letter from ND. If my QB situation was as unstable, and my job as unstable, as things look in Ann Arbor right now, this might be the best option on the table. With a full set of spring practices and a summer to tune up his skills, Paulus might not be such a bad option. Besides, look what else the cupboard in Michigan has to offer as far as QB's go. They were one or two hits away from having a backup punter tossing passes last year, lol.

More than that, I guarantee if he doesn't play ball, he is a Coach K assistant within 3 years.
