If I were elected president, I'm demanding access to Area 51 on my first day. Open up boys, show me the goods. Fascinated to know what's hidden there.

So why are we shooting missiles at a balloon when the F-16 that shot it down has a 20mm cannon and why did they call F-16's from Madison, WI when the A-10's fly out of Selfridge directly south of where the balloon was shot down?

Also, any news on finding the Yukon or Huron balloons?

20mm cannons aren't terribly effective on something like that balloon. They punch small holes in it, which means it will leak and eventually come down, but that might not happen for dozens or even hundreds of miles. You have no real control over where it will come down and their goal was to minimize the chance it would hit a populated area. As for why not use A-10s, they don't carry those types of missiles and can't reach that altitude. The F-16 can reach the necessary altitude and a missile explosion will shred the balloon and cause it to plunge to Earth right there.

Hey @Old Man Mike , what's the story on the Brazil incident? I just randomly came across the James Fox documentary, "Moment of Contact." James seems a little snake oily to me, but what's your input on him and his research? Also, what are some reliable websites I can use to look "fact check" or, at the very least, verify the validity and reliability of a lot of these UFO podcasts, documentaries, interviews, etc.?

You could tell Joe went in skeptical on that one, as he was challenging Fox immediately lol.

Gonna rent that documentary this weekend and check it out, though. Definitely an interesting account, especially whenever a "creature" is mentioned... my personal Bullshit Meter went crazy when Fox mentioned telepathic communication from the creatures from one of his sources, though.

Is it the Betty and Barney Hill encounter where they spoke of telepathic communication as well? I get a lot of these mixed up. I recently binged the High Strange podcast on my drive down to Florida. I could be mistaken, but I remember one case where they mentioned this form of communication.

I’m not familiar/don’t recall names well enough to know the Hill encounter off the top of my head or from various Rogan episodes.

Gonna check out the podcast you mentioned on the drive to Georgia in a few weeks now though. Always down for a good alien/supernatural/world order conspiracy.

Nice that the subject gives some of you guys entertainment. If you watch only typical TV stuff and most internet stuff, that's all you'll ever get. The field is HIGHLY complex, WAY more serious and active than you'll ever be able to become aware (sadly.) I have a very good friend who tries to keep everyone up on what's breaking in the various dimensions of this. Even with his labors, it's nearly impossible --- and NO pure factual writing from these sources ever gets into a TV "documentary" or stuff like Rogan. Here are Bill's recent notes to the serious researchers: (I'll split this into parts)

UFO-RELATED ARTICLES/TOPICS FOR THE GROUP SINCE MARCH 25TH

WE’VE REPORTED IN THE ANOMALIST AS OF APRIL 30, 2023

Note to all: The following covers those specific topics I believe of most interest to this particular group of ufologists, rather than including all that I do for the general public at Anomalist.com. I have expanded my usual listing of relevant links at the end of each discussion point, as one active respondent said it was helpful. Not every discussion point may be accompanied by a link. If you’ve a specific question or informational request on any of the below or that I can look up in the more than 10,000 reviews I’ve done since 2016 of online articles, academic papers, case investigations, podcasts, films, cases, or investigators, just contact me at my email.

At this report’s conclusion, there is also a notice concerning a tremendous personal loss to one of the most significant members in this email group.

OUR LEAD STORY:
The April 19th Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities hearing with All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) Director Sean Kirkpatrick dominated UFO news coming to The Anomalist since March 25th. AARO head Kirkpatrick’s presentation at an open session before three (yes, just 3) Senators was far more polished than the May 17, 2022 performances of Undersecretary of Defense Ronald Moultrie and former Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force lead Scott Bray before the House Permanent Select Committee of Intelligence, Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation. Kirkpatrick was well-prepared, got mostly easy questions, and his only real difficulty was in navigating the blame his superiors deserved for underfunding and retarding AARO’s development and involvement these past two years. Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Chris Mellon and past government defense analyst Marik von Rennenkampff had posed questions that Kirkpatrick should have been asked – and perhaps some were, in a prior closed session. Reactions to the open hearing followed expected UFO-skeptical and UFO-openminded lines. The first four links following give “official” elements of that hearing, with John Greenewald’s providing archival uses. The SCU response to the public hearing got my accolades for its measured, positive, but remindful tones. Most of the rest of the links are commentaries noting different aspects of the performance, which may include particular points made during the event that others miss, standard open- and closed-minded review examples, different media treatments, etc.

High Stranger isn't anything revolutionary. He's just someone who went down the rabbit hole and essentially podcasted his own review of a lot of cases. Payne Lindsey is normally a true-crime/cold-case type podcaster.

Some more stuff from Bill:

There was more discussion on the March 7th Avi Loeb/Sean Kirkpatrick paper, with that and the best articles linked below. Loeb, as well as Kirkpatrick himself, later may have slightly toned down their rhetoric against pilot witnesses.

https://lweb.cfa.harvard.edu/~loeb/LK1.pdf

https://revistaalphaufologia.com.br/2023/04/24/it-is-possible-there-is-classified-data-that-the-government-has-avi-loeb-says-to-alpha-magazine/

Other government-related news was led by John Greenewald getting serial numbers of 511 cases "analyzed, being analyzed, or archived at" the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office. That’s only one more than what the "2022 Annual Report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena" mentioned, and less than the 650 cases Sean Kirkpatrick would mention on April 19th. John's now got serial numbers to file new requests for data on individual cases. John’s FOIA for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force budget details was denied. But – the way the denial was worded seemed to John to indicate the UAPTF might still, somehow, be "operating." Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp must have raised DoD blood pressures with their interview of Dr. Colm Kelleher of the two Skinwalkers books fame, who flat-out seemed to confirm Dr. Eric Davis’ claims about possession of “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.” And we learned – and it was later confirmed by AARO point-man Kirkpatrick – that AARO was interviewing UFO/UAP witnesses. Yet there’s reason to believe the government’s clamping down on release of substantive UFO information.

That Pandemic/Reporting paper by Drs. Rodeghier, (Linda) Murphy, and Chase Cockrell of the University of Vermont did receive some note in scientific circles, and in mostly local online subsidiaries of ABC, I believe. The findings supported that witnesses accurately report what they see, that during the Pandemic the increased numbers of reports were due to Starlink satellite launches and not social hysteria – people seeing things that weren’t there, or “magnifying” things that were. The paper benefited from MUFON CMS data (thanks to Rob and Sue Swiatek and Tomas Karlsson) and NUFORC data (hat tip to Peter Davenport). Test procedures involved coding of reports as “Starlink,” “Not Starlink,” or “Ambiguous,” with serious statistically-based work to assure coder consistency within and between Linda and Mark. Reporting “jumps” were strongly associated with Starlink launches, and declined dramatically after the August 7, 2020 addition of “Visorsat” sun shades that reduced apparent satellite brightness about 50%. The paper is now freely available at

A disappointing paper was a 3-pager (half of it charts) appearing online in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine on December 29th (but slated for printing I believe in April). Billy Cox’ March 31st article rails against this “Association Between UFO Sightings and Emergency Department Visits,” using CUFOS Scientific Director and biostatistician Dr. Mark Rodeghier’s observations. Of course, four Harvard worthies and one Brown University scholar produced this effort, accepted in a “mainstream” academic journal. By contrast, Dr. Rodeghier notes that the 16-page paper “Social Factors and UFO Reports: Was the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic Associated with an Increase in UFO Reporting?” was rejected by PLOS ONE out of hand. This shows how seemingly ignorant was Dr. Kirkpatrick’s Senate hearing suggestion that those with alternate views “submit their research and analysis of UAP incidents to credible peer reviewed scientific journals.”

Whew, thank god we're not psychotic!

Another very important recently-published effort is the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies’ UAP Pattern Recognition Study 1945-1975 US Military Atomic Warfare Complex. This is available at UAP Pattern Recognition Study 1945-1975 US Military Atomic Warfare Complex . This multi-author, 63-page effort sought to establish whether there were elevated levels of UAP activity at sensitive military bases within particularly atomic weapons-related site classes. These sites were compared to "control" sites. Patterns in the reporting of UAP activity were also discovered. The result: a disturbing indication "of an intelligence driven survey of atomic weapons development capability." A marked "peak" of apparent surveillance occurred between 1948 and 1951, with an "overall diminishment and virtual cessation of activity following a national surge of UAP reports in 1952." 590 incidents were used in the study. 40 Figures illustrate and support the study's conclusions, and locations are specified. This paper deserves serious examination as likely a major contribution to UFO/UAP studies. A follow-on study of "intentions" is planned.

I was into it too at first. But a lot of it has been pretty much debunked.
Per what? They're showing their instruments readings live, and have multiple (and unique) UFOs on camera in broad day light in clear blue skys.

And the real estate transactions of the property check out, the former owner has told his why many times.

I havent seen season 3, but 2 was wild.

We’re like two semi-grainy videos and one legit, HD video away from the government showing us what they have in their possession.

As an uncommitted conspiracy theorist, I continue to choose to believe that this means there is a giant UFO on its way toward earth, and the government has known about its trajectory for years.

Controlled disclosure is slowly numbing everyone and prepping everyone for the big reveal, to hopefully dial back the panic that ensues.

If that's the goal I don't think it's working. The only people I know who are aware of most of the recent happenings are terminally online.

When I first heard of it, I researched it because it was so wild. The more I dug, the more it started to fall apart. Especially the stuff about people with dog heads running along people speeding in cars, human figures opening gateways to other dimensions and disapearing and other bizarre claims.

There are problems with the owner who made a lot of the claims.

I'm sure there are lights in the sky as it's somewhat close to area 51 2.0.

It will be an unpopular take in this thread, but here's my advice:

"When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras."
Just trying to understand your position. Are you suggesting that a private party company has invented/developed this technology and kept it secret from the US and global governments all this time? Horses (human), not zebras (alien), correct?
