Wrigley Field Gets a JumboTron in an Attempt to Drive More Cubs Fans Away from the Park | January
Here ya go. It was announced at Cubs fest this year.
50 million vbucks to the first person which confirms this turf rumor to be true or false.
Even more off topic not all video boards are "jumbotron". That is a brand name.
Jumbotron has become synonymous with giant video boards. I don't care so much about the board, please do not put the ads up everywhere.
Anyone know when this full stadium renovation is going to happen?
I'm confused about why the University wouldn't let anyone know they were putting in artificial turf. It's a big deal, but at the same time, it's not anything that they would keep secret.
I walked over today at around 6 30 when the snow had melted. Either they haven't put turf in or it looks horrible. Searched around the stadium for things that look like they may go with turf but just saw a bunch of old pipes and lots of rie bar.(sp?) So I would say for now....Myth Busted!
So why would this guy come on here just make up something like that?
I know that. Thats why I threw out the random fact. Also I didn't see an ad anywhere in my posts.

I meant all over the Jumbo Tron.

Pointing out you are using a brand name is the same thing as pointing out a spelling or grammatical error.

Off topic but the led board at Wrigley is not a jumbotron and will have no replay capabilities. Just a stat board.
Sort-of Kinda off topic
I thought I had read somewhere that they couldn't expand the stadium because the ground that the stadium was built on couldn't structurally support the weight. Is this true? I know stadium renovations don't necessarily mean expansion, but stadiums are only getting bigger.
Am I the only one who could take or leave a jumbotron? I understand (though don't necessarily agree) with the reasons for having one, but I won't lie... one of my favorite parts of stepping into ND stadium is that it's like going back in time, I feel like have a big LED screen might ruin that. I wouldn't be mad if they decided to do it, but I've never thought that one was needed when I watched a game in the stadium.

When I posted, I had heard that we were definitely getting it, if we hadn't already. Still under construction / hasn't occurred yet, so me culpa for leading anyone to believe it was in already.
But it will be in for next year's season.
