He dropped out of the race because he doesn't think he can win in November, not because he thinks he's a vegetable. There's no way of forcing him out of office other than the 25th. Do you really think republicans in congress are going to allow Kamala to be president for 6 months?
Would Congress even matter? I would think the natural line of succession applies. I could be wrong. I think him dropping out is seen an admission without admitting he’s brain dead and been that way for awhile but only admitting or saying he’s wanting to pass the torch.

My apologies to you and Toronto. I don't have time to read NY penal code and assumed they had the option to go to a GJ or have a Preliminary Hearing. This actually made it easier for the prosecutor given GJ's give the green light close to 100% of the time.
As they say, Google is free. If you looked it up before questioning my reading comprehension you wouldn't have egg on your face.

If he voluntarily stepped down then yes no need for congress, but if he needs to be forcibly removed you'd need to remove him via impeachment.

if true, shouldn’t Biden be a shoo-in for re-election instead of being a quitter for the “good of democracy”? He should win in a landslide similar to Reagan ‘84 based on your claims. We know he’s not stepping aside due to his mental incapacities/’sundowners’ b/c that would be admitting he’s also not fit to serve out his term.
No

Yeah. That’s a pretty inaccurate assessment.

I mean Mitch McConnell supported it initially and it was a bipartisan compromise. That’s typically how things move forward and what most voters would like to see. The Democrats damn near bent over backwards to get this teed up for a vote.

If I’m remembering correctly the “too much pork” canard became a talking point once Trump weighed in. After that it unraveled pretty quickly.
Yep. After GoP blew it up they went running for any cover available.

Everyone on the “left” isn’t ok with all that. That’s why Biden is out. The dude is declining and effectively announced his retirement. Was it forced? Yes. Frankly I think that’s a good thing. I will say that Biden seems as fit for office as Reagan was at this point in Reagan’s second term. So all things being equal, things will be fine.

You just seem mad that the GOP seems to have saddled themselves with such a shitty candidate.

As an aside, if Harris wins it will be the greatest rope a dope in the history of US politics.
It's been reported that Biden has been on the decline for the last couple of years and a reason he wasn't doing many public appearances. The left was pretty much okay with it until Biden was exposed on national TV and there was no way for them to cover it up or justify him being POTUS. If he hadn't debated Trump, he'd still be running.

Couldn't just accept an apology without a snide remark, but that's pretty much what I expect from the smartest guy in the room.

Yeah your apology deserved a much more mature response, it was very earnest and there was no prior chiding on your part.

It’s obvious you and Cack don’t get it. :sneaky:
You guys let your emotions drive your reading comprehension.
I guess it's the comprehension that you missed.

I don't think that's accurate at all. Standing presidents don't drop out of races. After the debate, he came out and said he was staying in the race. Hunter and Jill were telling him to stay in the race. The DNC pushed him out because they knew he couldn't win. I'm wondering what he was promised to quit the race.

We were going back and forth, thus those comments. Not sure how you were raised, but typically when one issues an apology it's done. Given your response I'll assume it wasn't accepted.

If someone is petty in their apology, why can't I be petty back lol. You hold me to a higher standard than yourself, I match the energy in which the post has. Do you notice how I respond to NoDak? or how Sea Turtle and I no longer go at each other's throats?

Of course your posts are always on the up and up without snide. Your "Egg on your face" response dictated what I said.

He dropped out because of people around him pressuring him based on the fact that their polling showed he had zero chance of winning. Even if I agreed with you Biden dropped out solely because of DNC pressure instead of he himself accepting he can't win, so what? Either way he isn't admitting that he is unable to perform the duties of the presidency. Meaning the only way to get him to step down from office is forcibly.

I’m still a little cringe on the fact that Biden was voted by the people. The next man in will not be. It would equally (if not more) bother me if Trump called it quits today and somehow JD Vance was leading the ticket.

Not a gotcha question. Just looking for your honest opinion. Do you think he's capable of serving out the rest of his term? I realize others may actually be running things, but that's a different matter. Do you think he's capable of actually doing what a POTUS is supposed to be doing? Do you think he's actually been in charge and capable of all that for the past year or two?

My personal opinion, based on what I've seen during his term in office, is that he has not really been capable of all that, nor actually in charge, for at least the past year, and maybe the past 2-3 years. I certainly don't think he is now, but others seem to be running things for him, and having him step down or be removed would probably be more problematic than just leaving things as they are until January.

Like I said, I match the energy that is in the post I have no problem being a snide prick if the person I'm responding to is one too.

The bill sucked. It was an $118 Billion bill that allowed for 2 Million illegal immigrants to enter the country annually, allowed the president to suspend a border closure for 45 days if it was in the "national interest", and would give millions amnesty. The Republicans passed a bill less than a year prior that that was blocked by the Dems in the senate. The border was in a stable place before Biden took office and he took action on day one to make it worse. The republicans shouldn’t have to settle for a shitty bill enshrining millions of illegal immigrants.

Is there any voice on the left saying Biden needs to resign or get forced out via the 25th amendment? I’m convinced that Pelosi and co. threatened him with that to get him to drop out of the race, but everybody is doing their best job to suck him off and compare him to George fucking Washington lol

We have the best economy in the world. Inflation is lowest of all industrialized countries, Biden kept oil prices down by releasing strategic reserve to drive prices down then bought back oil at a lower price making massive profit for the country and fingering OPEC at the same time. Without immigrants you don’t get your food in the stores. We have had this discussion before and I’m not rehashing it. Immigrants are a net positive for the country. Trump isn’t doing any of this. 😂 he couldn’t even get Mexico to pay for the wall or give us infrastructure week. Biden haves us infrastructure week, Chips act, capped insulin prices, I could go on but it doesn’t matter. NATO has expanded, Russia is being drained for all it’s worth.

Go vote for the rapist felon and fret over the Great Replacement theory. Biden has done more good in three years than anyone expected and he has been much better president on the global stage than Trump ever will.

No motivations will ever lead me to accept a convicted rapists felon grifter as a leader for our country. A clear criminal with history of documented criminal behavior is unacceptable. I don’t know how people got to the point of convincing themselves otherwise. Gross.
1) Imagine how much stronger our economy would be if we didn't experience 8% inflation and $5 gas prices due to Biden policies. Want to rehash what those numbers were when Trump left office?

2) Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline in 2021.

3) At what point are you going to be able to distinguish between legal immigration and illegal immigration? No other industrialized country on earth would either tolerate or sustain the numbers we've seen cross our border in the past 3 years.

The fact that they refuse to distinguish between the two and routinely and intentionally conflate them tells you all you need to know about their honesty and the fact that they can't rationally and factually justify their stance on illegal immigration or make any sort of valid argument for it. If facts and logic support your view, you have NO reason to present any sort of dishonest or spun argument. You only do that when your view isn't supported the facts.
