My most generous interpretation of what Trump said would be ..... that Christians that closely align with Turning Point wouldn't even have to vote in the next election because Trump's policies would result in everyone being so happy that the next Republican candidate will easily get elected.

Even if that's what he meant, his wording only reinforces concerns that people have over Trump. I don't believe Trump would be so stupid as to verbalize that he has an evil plan to overthrow the rules and make so that he becomes dictator.

With that said, it was a stupid thing to say regardless.

He said he would be a day one dictator. Even if it’s only for the first day he could authorize all kinds of things on day one that get executed over time. Plus immunity for him and no way to investigate or hold accountable anyone he tasks with official acts….

What if it isn’t stupidity and just brazen bravado? Because cloaked in immunity for official actions he could actually do it and get away with it and if he is in office and does it what is in place to stop him? Honor based guardrails? He stress tested so many of them already they won’t stop him this time and now with immunity he can blow right through them. I’m not even sure how impeachment can stop a president now based on my reading of the immunity ruling.

Nope. Where in the constitution does it grant presidential immunity and how to deal with it based on this SCOTUS ruling? What power does congress have now that virtually all evidence needed to impeach a president cannot be obtained because of immunity? How will Congress force a president to leave office? What happens when a President has loyalists installed in all key positions instead of civil servants and they decide not to enforce any laws or guardrails?

After immunity ruling it’s unclear what impeachment would even be able to do to hold them accountable for official acts. If congress requested info he could withhold it due to immunity. If they wanted him or underlings to testify? Nope. Immunity. Prosecute an impeachment in House? How. Immunity. Literally every act taken by a president can be considered official or presumed official which severely limits any and virtually all evidence and any attempt to hold the President accountable is now covered by immunity.

Now what happens when a president has loyalists commanding the armed forces and says nah man I’m not leaving….. ever. I’m not talking specifically about Trump here but in general any future president including the next Dem one.
