I LOVE Ruthless. It's the best pod out there IMHO.

Pod theater was excellent too.

They do a good job keeping it light and keeping it fun, but also have some good takes and guests. Commentary podcast is a bit more high brow but also excellent.

The GOP is officially done and can’t be taken seriously anymore

Relax, my friend. American politics is replete with instances of what seems like the ultimate example of someone going too far over the line, only to find that after a bit of time it fades from importance and effect, and is replaced by something even more outrageous. Regardless of what nonsense and bad behavior our elected officials engage in, both parties will, unfortunately, continue to have members elected to Congress and the White House.

Lol. I'm not pleased with what several of the state GOP parties are doing but this is pretty over the top, even for you.

That said, the typical GOP'ers at the state and local level who are reliable Red voters need to make an effort to make their voices heard. There is no benefit in letting inmates run the asylum.

That reminds me, I probably ought to make sure the ND folks are behaving. I havent heard anything but we got a few loons just like anywhere else.

The GOP has placed itself in a double bind. On one hand they have embraced a hardline ultra nationalist position on everything while at the same time pumping classical liberal economic theory and libertarianism. Those two things are diametrically opposed.

It’s the same playbook they clung to in a number of States that now solidly favor the Democratic Party.

What’s over the top? They have clearly departed from anything resembling even Bush era republicanism and are definitely no where near Reagan. They have now publicly embraced the fascist, anti intellectual, and extremist part of their party while punishing the old guard for stepping out of line. The moderates are fleeing. I asked a few weeks earlier what the party was going to do and it’s clear what path they are forging ahead on.

That's like me claiming that objectively shithole districts in Minneapolis, the Bronx, and Detroit show the Democrat party is a broken and antisemitic entity.

If your idea of the GOP is what f'ing WYOMING is thinking then you need to own goofy shit coming out of the extreme lib areas. I get it... you want to think you and others are bravely standing against fascism or whatever. You aren't. You are consistently overdramatic.

People in some state GOP positions are looney. In 2018, some dumb polls said 2/3 of Dems believed Russia changed votes on behalf of the Don. No serious person believed that. I dont recall you posting that Dems weren't a serious party then.

I get that you want to think you are taking a stand against fascism or whatever. Wyoming's GOP going nuts is small potatoes. If you were a serious person you'd have pointed at Arizona... but you didn't.

GOP has some work to do, no doubt. That's not debatable. But using WYOMING as your big evidence is weak at best.

Putting the Wyoming thing aside, saying the GOP is done is like saying ND's season is over if they lose the first game of the year.

DNC had to re-group after 2016, GOP needs to do the same before the next midterm cycle. A lot can change quickly in politics.

Yeah. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they have not read any of my other posts since November. That’s being quite kind but trying to retort on one post as if it’s the WHOLE argument is funny and typical.

I’m guessing the large number of GOP reps standing with MGT,the complicity of the GOP in whole in the BIG LIE and ultimately the insurrection and protection of Trump and his cronies, a Senate who won’t convict Trump, amongst all the other evidence means I’m being over dramatic about all of it. Lol. Again I guess I have to post all evidence in every post every time I post one thing. It’s like my one post is the totality of the point when in reality I’m just posting evidence after evidence after evidence in multiple posts meant to underline the Multiple lines of evidence available for consumption and understanding. Lol.

You see in science and I’m a big fan of science there is a concept called converging lines of evidence. As far as truth goes when independent lines of evidence converge on a single result, that lends great credence to the result being able to be considered true. That is what is happening here. I get it some people here may not understand this concept which is why they think my single post about Wyoming means that is my entire argument on the GOPs current demise.
n science and history, consilience (also convergence of evidence or concordance of evidence) is the principle that evidence from independent, unrelated sources can "converge" on strong conclusions. That is, when multiple sources of evidence are in agreement, the conclusion can be very strong even when none of the individual sources of evidence is significantly so on its own. Most established scientific knowledge is supported by a convergence of evidence: if not, the evidence is comparatively weak, and there will not likely be a strong scientific consensus.

I have been on this board long enough to see all former Reagnites vote against Obama and the vote for Trump. I remember all those arguments against the Clintons and later Obama. Bush was still seen in the frame of Reagan and his policies. I’ve seen all their arguments try to fit into the Reagan box but that isn’t possible. Therefore the box has to shift to accommodate the reality that American republicans have now no moral authority, no moral majority, no fiscal conservatism, no liberal republicanism and and no democratic leg to stand on. I’m just here for the gymnastics. I give it a 8.0/10 so far.

And yes North Dakota, I take the first insurrection to breach our Capitol very seriously. I want those responsible held accountable. Including the Trump and his enablers. I expect any American to hold the same values. I will not apologize for that.

Q (Q Anon)

Its likely started and maitained by a bunch of internet trolls but it is has reached Americans via MAGA and pro-trump anti intelligencistsas. It has also made it into Congress in the form of MGT and Boehbert so im sure you have seen all the crazy shit they say or have said. That is Q. It was pushed by Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, and Trump and his family.

All in all its pretty much a racist, anti-semetic, conspiracy theorist, trolling disinformation cult that is actively promoted by hard right MAGATs. These aren't lone wolf type individuals. There are a ton of them. If you look a the videos from the insurrection you find plenty of Q flags and shirts amongst the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and other domestic terrorist groups assaulting the Capitol.

A May 30, 2019, FBI "Intelligence Bulletin" memo from the Phoenix Field Office identified QAnon-driven extremists as a domestic terrorism threat. The document cited a number of arrests related to QAnon, some of which had not been publicized before.[173] According to the memo, "This is the first FBI product examining the threat from conspiracy theory-driven domestic extremists and provides a baseline for future intelligence products. ... The FBI assesses these conspiracy theories very likely will emerge, spread, and evolve in the modern information marketplace, occasionally driving both groups and individual extremists to carry out criminal or violent acts."[173][174]

According to FBI's counterterrorism director Michael G. McGarrity's testimony before Congress in May, the FBI divides domestic terrorism threats into four primary categories, "racially motivated violent extremism, anti-government/anti-authority extremism, animal rights/environmental extremism, and abortion extremism," which includes both pro-choice and anti-abortion extremists. The fringe conspiracy theory threat is closely related to the anti-government/anti-authority subject area.[173][174]

An under-reported QAnon-related incident was mentioned in the memo: the December 19, 2018, arrest of a California man whose car contained bomb-making materials he intended to use to "blow up a satanic temple monument" in the Springfield, Illinois, Capitol rotunda to "make Americans aware of Pizzagate and the New World Order, who were dismantling society." According to the same source, the FBI said another factor driving the intensity of this threat is "the uncovering of real conspiracies or cover-ups involving illegal, harmful, or unconstitutional activities by government officials or leading political figures."[173]

QAnon followers' reactions included the suggestion the memo was fake, calling for the firing of FBI director Christopher A. Wray for working against Trump, and the idea that the memo was actually a "wink-and-a-nod" way of attracting attention to QAnon and tricking the media into asking Trump about it.[175] At a Trump reelection rally several hours after the memo's existence became known, WalkAway campaign founder Brandon Straka, a gay man who claims to have been a liberal Democrat but is now a Trump supporter, addressed the crowd using one of QAnon's primary rallying cries, "Where we go one, we go all". A videographer found numerous QAnon supporters in the crowd, identified by their QAnon shirts showing large "Q"'s or "WWG1WGA".[36]

I still can't imagine looking at cities boarded up before the election in case Trump lost and the rush by big-tech, libs, and the media to suppress/de-platform conservatives and still thinking that fascism was defeated.

You must be one of these people using anti-fascist tactics on this fascist woman in pink?

Yeah that whole insurrection thing wasnt just a bunch of bull dicks on spring vacation. lol. regrouping...

So Q is every internet shitpost that the left disagrees with? I say that the left disagrees with because left-wing nutcases seem to be excluded. It's basically a way to lump in the right wing types that are despised the most?

I thought it was an actual group or org.

So now we are defending Liz Cheney and can't call anyone names anymore. This place is going to shit under the new management.

Get rid of the old guard on both sides - political positions are not a birthright. Except Ivanka - would love to have a PILF in my lifetime.

Q stuff is so low T. Dems roll their eyes and brush off their morons all the time yet somehow paint Q on anyone to the right of Joe Manchin.

No. Its not something we leftitists are doing to besmirtch conservatives lol. Its really crazy actually. Like legit insanity. It has nothing to do with shitposting. It started up on SM and exploded on FB, Twitter etc. FBI had labeled it a DT org. I dont have the time or effort to explain it to you which is why I posted the link. Regardless of how it stated, its a cult and its exclusively centered around Trump and MAGA. It is exclusively pushed by MAGA SM personas including Trump, Junior, Flynn and Stone. It has zero to do with Antifa or leftists or libtards. Their primary targets ARE leftisits.

The true believers think Q is a real person with inside knowledge and powers but in reality its likely a group of trolls who have managed to turn Q into a cult of personality. IT all started with the Pizzagate and child sex ring he claimed the Dems were in charge of. Surely you remember that?

The only cult I know is the crazies who spent the last four years crying about the walls closing in. Pee tape, Russia, repeat. Know any of them?

Trump can go away as far as I'm concerned. He's too much of a lightning rod and we need a uniting voice with conservative liberty-minded principles. Anyone who thought Rudy and Lin Wood were a good idea can gracefully scoot to the back, IMHO.

Ok then Im not spending anymore time clearing up your ignorance on Q even though you asked but evidently have no intention on digging deeper. This is the last link I will offer since its you who actually seemed like you were curious. From here you have the info you need to catch up or go further if you so choose.

Its a legit real thing people should know and its a DT(domestic terror) threat defined by the FBI as such and its related to or tied with MAGA and DJT et al. Sorry there isnt anyway to "both sides" this answer but it is what it is.
