Congrats. Hope you do well.

I guess if you make all kinds of money, the economy can appear to be doing great or you just don't care. Gas, food prices and mortgage rates are still way up there which are the three areas that impact families the most.

Sad day for America, regardless of whose dick you like the most. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Trump will appeal. Will they let him remain free after sentencing while the appeals process plays out? IMO, I doubt Trump spends any time in jail and if he doesn't, then this trial was a gigantic waste of time and money.
This is a very weird post but that being said I find it odd you think it’s a waste of time and money to hold someone accountable for using fraud and conspiring with others to get elected to the highest office in the land. Not all crimes will require jail and he likely won’t get jail for this. What is the point of the law if you don’t hold people accountable? Not holding people accountable means more people will do it in the future without repercussions. I don’t think we want that whether it white collar or violent crimes. Strange take I have to say.

Ditto!! The whole Russian investigation was built on fraud, who was held accountable? 2016 everyone questioned the election and its legitimacy/integrity, who was held accountable? 2020 politicians encouraged burning cities, who was held accountable? Cocaine found multiple times in the most guarded and secure building on the planet but they don’t know whose it was, no accountability. Hilary destroying all of her electronics to destroy evidence, no accountability. If you think Hunter Biden being a millionaire is legitimate and his dad has zero knowledge of how it happened I feel sorry for you, no accountability. Covid relief bills littered with special interests lining their pockets. This why nobody will give 2 shits about a conviction because anyone with a brain knows it’s political.

It's criminal act that he's convicted of. Finding him guilty isn't holding him accountable if all that is rendered is a verdict. Not meting out a punishment sends the wrong message. His MAGA supporters will simply say, if he was really guilty, he'd be in jail.

Or he’s the only criminal politician charged/convicted. Find me a clean politician and I’ll find you a city councilman.

How times have changed

Did Clinton create a fake company and hide the payment as legal fees in order to keep it a secret from the public? If this was to settle a suit then that’s legal and public lmao.

Again. No one cares Trumped fucked a porn star. It’s not against the law to payoff people to settle suits. lol. Maybe by the morality police. They care that he conspires to keep it a secret through fraudulent means. Not hard to understand. If he had done it publically and via legal means I’m sure it would have been totally cool. False equivalency

Again that’s a weird take. He is a felon and will be forever. He will have some sort of punishment be it financial or penal. Not all crimes end in jail. lol.

99.9% of them never get prosecuted, that’s either the real crime or we just need to ignore it all in general.

What’s your source on this that 99% of people running for president who falsified business records in order to coverup election fraud are never prosecuted. He could have settled out of court, disclosed it on FEC filing as a liability and been fine.

Pretty simple point - He has a flawless background, if he can't make the case that Biden should be charged then who would.

Additionally, if Republican's truly believed he did, wouldn't they have moved forward with an impeachment?

All pretty basic ideas that seem to slip the mind of "rational thinkers" who believe that Biden has these numerous crimes that are obvious to them but not to the lawyers.
Was his goal to make the case that Biden should be charged?

Why are you bringing up impeachment?

If Trump were the first in a long line of prominent politicians from both sides of the aisle to be thrown in jail, I would celebrate. Really commend the dedicated folks who defend the honor of Joe Biden and the Clintons. Bravo.

I think Rs remove Trump from the ballot and Nikki Haley gets to lead us into WW3 before her hand is even off the bible. The only way Biden stays on the ballot is if the establishment is comfortable Trump is off the ballot and/or they know finding enough ballots in the right spots is infallible.

So were all 34 counts related to Stormy hush money or what? Doesn't congress have a taxpayer funded slush fund for hush money? I see Paula Jones videos popping up in here. Maybe this would mean more if we had more than zero Epstein clients facing trial. Pedos walk, porn hush money tho.

I’m sorry but I’ll take my prognostications on the largest and most complex economy humanity has ever seen from the published reports from economists and not on anecdotal flight logs to and from LAX.

We are likely due for a recession at some point but that is the nature of inevitable contractions in the capitalism we practice and not by who is in office.

Nice hedge there!

Q1 GDP revision down has the economy off to a slower start than your economist chart. This pace we are already on track to hit the 2025 projection. This would be a more moderate drop off than "the experts" are predicting.

More anecdotal data for you, but a major contractor out here just stiffed a competitor of mine for over seven figures on a job. This is third such story I have heard in weeks. All these companies will be CIA or cutoff which means you can pretty much bury them. The first one is third generation company too.

If there’s crimes he found he would have said so, no?

Because that’s the best that can be done to a sitting president? If Republicans actually believed in crimes why wouldn’t impeach him.

He basically did say so, no?

You'd have to ask them. Maybe they didn't find enough. Maybe they didn't think it was worthwhile. End of the day, I'm not sure why that matters one way or another?

He said the evidence didn't reach a level beyond a reasonable doubt. From what I remember, this is quite an important distinction from previous discussions on this message board.

Well, you would agree they have greater proximity to the evidence that anyone on this message board, no? They would also be more politically motivated than anyone on this message board, yes? So, if they made the determination not to pursue it, does that not seem like maybe the whole thing may not hold the strength that some claim it to have?

Hur concluded there wasn't enough for a criminal charge, Congress declined to use the political process to pursue "justice" - so there isn't enough there for even the most politically motivated people to go forward with....when are the charges going to drop?

I don't really have a horse in this race. I hate both sides. Admittedly, I haven't been following politics as closely as I used to. I got tired of the circus. I was thinking about this last night though, and to the bolded, here is what I'm thinking:

I'm not suggesting that people shouldn't be held accountable. However, we need to expect it to be distributed fairly and equally. This has long since seemed like a political witch hunt and they just happened to finally find something that would stick. This completely breaks precedent and opens up the doors for more political witch hunts, political lawfare, criminalizing opponents, etc. This is a terrible look for the country in that regard and opens up Pandora's Box for this to only get worse. I mean just think for one second what is going to happen if Trump somehow still lands in the WH after all this. What will future Presidents do to their opponents who jeopardize re-election status?

This also comes during a time of extreme political polarization, inflation, illegal immigration, etc. Convicting a political opponent, one as popular with his base as Trump, is likely to cause even further polarization. This is unlikely to end well. I'm genuinely nervous about where this is leading us as a country.

Again, I'm not defending or attacking Trump/Biden. Just thinking in general terms.

Lmao at thinking me and Toronto are the same. Lmaoooooooooooooooooo. Conspiracies are everywhere MGT. I’m an expert financial advisor and an amazing structural engineer at the same time. 😂

@TorontoGold this is wild shit.

A private citizen committed a crime to help him achieve a political office. The only box that was opened is that we have shown that private citizen can be held to account. I hope to god all future candidates are scared shitless by this.
