Nice try. I don't really care about Trump, but I do think it's funny that two years after he lost you guys can't get him out of your head. I do enjoy the reactions, it's entertainment. I don't think you guys have yet realized the harder you fight, investigate, and try to impeach the guy the more likely he wins another primary. Recent CNN polling shows the Jan 6th hearings haven't changed opinions much or at all, and there were actually more Republicans convinced in February earlier this year that Jan 6th was a major problem and that democracy was under attack. If there wasn't such a strong push to oust him from the start he probably would have faded away after the pandemic ended up tanking his re-election bid.

Hard to conduct a coup if you aren't even there to take part, and you're sending mixed messages like "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard." That's a call to violence if I've ever heard one! You'd think such an upheaval of the government with the most powerful military in the world would take an organized army with a clear plan, communication, and actual weapons instead of flag poles.

If it's any consolation, the poll said most GOP want a new candidate to win the spot, and I hope that happens too. The Trump 24/7 news cycle can be exhausting, but part of me wonders if this isn't just the new normal.

Historically, nobody gets any substantial penalties for a crime related to possession of records. However, someone posted earlier about Trump enacted a law early on in his administration regarding records. I have no clue what the impact is.

It all goes back to the question of ..... if you are going to raid a residence of a former President, it would seem like there better be the possibility of serious punishment given the optics.

Yeah… well it does depend on what those records were and why Trump lied to keep them even after knowing the penalty and that the National Archives has already visited once before to take what they thought was all of the documents.

Sadly, this is true. Trumps actions while he tried to hang on to power are inexcusable. Basically calling for Pence's head is insane. His advisors told him there is no basis for overturning the election, he basically said screw you and did whatever the hell he wanted to.

I have a much bigger issue with Trump than I do with the Jan 6 protesters. I have a problem with his gangster style of politics. There was a former member of Trump's cabinet that had a slightly critical critique of a Trump decision. Trump basically tried to destroy them. Standard operating procedure. If Trump doesn't feel that he has your 110% support, he will come at you with full force. It's bullying and intimidation. He's done it a thousand times. He does it to everyone. He's done it to the Republican party for 6 years. If you think he cares one ounce about Christians or average Joe American, I got a bridge to sell you. He only cares about himself and his ego. Cross him if you dare.

As a conservative Republican, I've routinely pointed at the Democrats and said they need to clean up their house if they want to be taken seriously. Violence in the black community? You first step is to call out the police? My response is you need to clean up your house. If Republicans want to be taken seriously, we need to clean up our house.

Well said. I’ve always been amazed regarding the short memory of the general public. Before he was elected POTUS, he was the high stakes real estate mogul turned reality TV star who loved to rub elbows w/ the Liberal Elites on the cable TV news show or the network shows like “The View”. They loved him b/c he was entertaining. He was also (and still is IMO) the furthest thing from a conservative Christian as one can get. I’d bet dollars to donuts, that he’s paid for multiple abortions. TBF, I don’t know what’s in the man’s heart but his actions the past 7 years lead me to believe he will say or do whatever it takes to “win”. I recall that he always claimed to be a moderate Democrat before switching sides. He played the Republican voters like a fiddle b/c he saw that as the easiest path to the WH and a large number of them bought his shtick hook, line & sinker.

Again, TBF; had he stayed off social media & not lead w/ ego/emotions, he probably gets re-elected b/c his policies were arguably working compared to the unfulfilled promises his predecessors made (R or D). I’m guessing you didn’t read the GOP led Senate Select Committee report on the Russia Colluion issue. You can’t have because no a single word in this clown show could be credibly typed out with a serious face.
