Remember when there was 24/7 posts about how the world is laughing at Biden? Well, not even in office yet and the Russian's are already laughing at the guy who's supposed to project "strength".

Doesn't seem like that's going to be the case with Putin already laughing.

Trump should pardon Hunter. It would be a nice gesture and the right thing to do.

Scrolling through after being away from this board for a bit. All I see from Toronto is “remember when” posts. Grow the fuck up with these troll posts.
Ah, I'm the troll because I'm posting items that you don't like. Maybe you should grow the fuck up.

2. Russia - Zelensky pledged to bring the conflict in the Donbas to a close, but his efforts were complicated when he was drawn into a political scandal in the United States. The U.S. Congress had authorized some $400 million in military aid for Ukraine, but U.S. Pres. Donald Trump held up the release of that security assistance. In a phone call with Zelensky on July 25, 2019, Trump implied that the aid would be released only if Zelensky “would do us a favor” by endorsing a pair of unsubstantiated claims about Trump’s political opponents. Zelensky never provided the “quid pro quo” that Trump had requested, and the funds were finally made available in September 2019.

I think it hilarious. You were in the anger stage of grief last week. Now it’s bargaining telling people if they were angry about something back then they should feel angry about something completely different now… it’s cute how you are trying to connect all these dots.

Yeah you certainly seem like you're having a laugh. Whenever I find something hilarious I always tell them to grow up and fuck off.

Trying my hand at the "omg the world is laughing at xyz" stuff that you guys did for years. Nobody defended Biden when he fell down the stairs or called Zelensky Putin, but the second I post something referencing how Russian state media is laughing at Trump it's like everyone's brain melted. I knew the water carriers would be out in full force, I do look forward to seeing how it's rationalized.

The lack of self awareness here is astounding. *Spends 4 years freaking out about the image that Biden is projecting to the world* *Sees one post about how Russian state media is laughing at Trump* Wow you must be trolling!

You in the 1940's "Nazi Germany isn't our enemy"
Nazi Germany was formidable and sought to do horrific things. Nazi Germany also declared war on us. There were also no nuclear weapons back then until after Germany surrendered.

If Ukraine surrendered the entire country tomorrow your life would not change one iota. I don't know if anyone's would tbh.

Assuming you’re serious, then no, Hunter should not be pardoned. No one should be above the law and that includes politicians and their relatives.

I am serious. I respect your stance. Many people get pardoned for various reasons during each administration. I just think it would be an olive branch to the other side and a beginning to the end of lawfare of political opponents.

From what I understand, he served his country but at some point became a lost soul. He has serious issues, we all know that. It's just a thought.

I'm not interested in rubbing this victory in and turning the screws on political opponents.

Credit where credit is due -- I love what Trump is doing so far with these appointments, except for maybe Noem she's kinda dumb. But many of these guys seem like A+ moves and I'm pleasantly surprised he's keeping the unqualified loons out of important positions. Still waiting to see what he does with RFK and Tulsi.

Related -- people have it twisted when it comes to avoiding major wars and preserving American lives. The ONLY way to thwart your adversaries is strength, and the easiest way to do that is to have someone do your fighting for you when they overreach / start a conflict that they can't easily resolve. Arming Taiwan is good. Arming Ukraine is good. Arming Israel is good.

Give American-friendly countries munitions and the ability to defend themselves and it either implicitly or explicitly curbs the influence of your adversaries. You also avoid the eventuality of having to put American boots on the ground by doing this.

I admittedly know little about these people. But while I don't disagree with anything I've ever heard her say, I'm not blown away by Tulsi when I listened to her a on a long form podcast. She's completely fine, no issue with her, but she's not exactly presenting new ideas that are brilliant and there are quite a few others who do (Vivek, for example). The Tulsi obsession I just don't get and seems like a subconscious demand on the right to elevate a (pretty) woman for the same of doing so. She's perfectly fine, just not that inspiring to me personally.

I think part of it is that both sides like to elevate people who "turned from the dark side" and are finding a new home on the left or right.

All you have to do is look at the replies on twitter to see what MAGA influencers are getting pissed at these Trump cabinet appointments and know that it's a good sign

She's part of the transition team, but I thought I read where she wasn't going to be an appointment or she didn't want one. Or did I dream that?

For me she's always come across a level headed, and you're right she doesn't rock the boat a whole lot. I'm not looking to rock the boat though, I like sensibility and no nonsense when it comes to government. It helps that she's military too. Being easy on the eyes is just icing on the cake.

She is very pretty. Although that white stripe has kept me from having to do a waistline tuck a few times.

The only one I object to is Kristi Noem, MAGA probably likes her though.

She's not smart. I've had multiple people who know her well enough tell me that. I heard it speculated that she's just a figurehead who will let more zealous folks call the shots. Hoping that's the case.

What's funny about Kristi is she started out as an establishment shill. I don't generally care if that's the case in big states, but in a state with one house rep, I expect those people to be mini senators and be a good advocate for their state.

Once she went home to SD to be governor she started being a MAGA shill. Which really doesn't make sense. MAGA is a national thing that isn't particularly relevant to South Dakota state politics.

Rant over. Noem sucks.
