It’s very clear from this immediately following Elon being on the call with Zelenesky + Elon tweeting what he did about Ukranian money + that there are people close to Trump that will stop him from hiring anyone that isn’t pro-Putin. His chief of staff also allegedly has ties there, but I don’t know the whole story. Tucker, David Sachs, etc. are literally on Russian payroll.

My question is how does all of this affect Iran, because I think Putin may just throw Iran under the bus. He doesn’t need them.

1- This admin won’t coddle Iran. That’s a change in policy. Also- that means Iranian oil is fair game now as Iran, the banker of terrorism, must be and will bottled up. That helps Ukraine because it hurts a supplier of Russia. Very pro-Putin.

I bet the only way you could get it done is by also doubling or tripling their salaries as part of the bill and making it so that everyone currently in Congress starts "fresh" on the timer. Might be worth it.

There's a way, it's not perfect, but Vivek laid it out nicely. Unfortunately, they're not going to vote against their self-interest, so you give any current seat immunity from it, but every elected official after that has term limits. It'll only attract the folks who aren't looking for a career-long gig.

He should have stepped down in 2019. He formed a coalition with a further Left party and has not delivered anything substantial from that. He is divorced from reality (and his wife lol).

He is essentially doing the DNC strategy of trying to do things that people on the Right should like but if they spent your entire tenure calling you a commie with open borders why would you try half measures to try and win them over instead of appealing to the people that elected you.

We're on a one way train ride towards our version of Ted Cruz being elected thanks to him.

TBH having a Ted Cruz is better for me as a progressive because he's a pretty unlikeable politician who rubs people who aren't up to date on politics the wrong way. He keeps the people in the margins as "gettable" in an election. If the CPC had a Trump type who was charismatic it would be so much worse since he can actually get people to like him lol.

Essentially the high level look at Canadian politics (if you care) is - Federal cons are essentially neocons, and the federal libs are neolibs. There isn't really a populist candidate like Bernie or Trump (Maxime Bernier is trying but there's still a great disdain for french speaking politicians across Canada) and our progressive in name only party is just doing a Kamala Harris where the policies are just whatever's convenient.

TLDR - Trump is going to eat Pierre Pollieves lunch for the next 4 years and expect massive trade wins.
