How could there be another window? Make it stop!

(I would assume two to three players will medical/retire/whatever between now and Sept. 1. But that's not likely to be anyone in the two-deep or one of our quarterbacks, which are my primary areas of concern here.)

The college football spring transfer portal window doesn't close April 30 for everyone as was previously the prevailing thought.

For peace of mind they needed to get a no-doubt starter at tackle.

Getting a no doubt starter in the portal is virtually impossible for OL.

Agree with this. The hit rates on a ready-made tackle stepping into a program as a transfer and having a profound impact are very, very low.

definitely agreed, only special circumstances it seems, like a traditional o-line team shifting strategy and coaching, ex. Stanford had 5 go into the portal. (2 to Michigan that started games this year)

Yeah of our starters Thomas was probably the most logical outbound transfer candidate. But there was also a LOT of speculating about Angeli and Minchey, both of whom appear to be sticking around for the season.

Yep. It's the best move for him and for us. We keep a talented QB in the room, and he can see what happens over the next seven or eight months and then go, if he needs. He wasn't going to start anywhere worthwhile this season anyway.

Biggest problem is what happens next year? Say you go Angeli, Minchey, Carr battling for QB 1. Carr wins? Angeli has 2 years left he jumps ship, Minchey has 3 years left he jumps ship. That leaves you with Carr as QB1 and Duece as QB2?
