'24 will be his 6th season:

Redshirted in 2019, played 2020 (COVID) year then played 21, 22, 23. Has a year of eligibility left and should be an academic GT.

I think he would be a solid get that would definitely push to start at an outside spot.

Thomas, Tobias, Cam, Mitchell would be a solid 4 at the 2 outside spots with Greathouse/Faison in the slot then Rico depth at all 3. 7 Wrs and then whatever you get out of KK, James, or any other frosh is gravy.

If you’re going to assume Leonard is the guy, following the follows, he has followed Jahfari Harvey, Jordan Clark (Nickel? ASU) and Kris Mitchell (WR FIU).

Jordan Clark is Ryan Clark’s son and makes a whole lot of sense. Ryan Clark has always spoken very highly of Marcus Freeman since the Pivot Pod appearance. Clark had 50 tackles this year and 9 pass deflections.

Mitchell at FIU had 64 catches for 1100 yards and 7 touchdowns. YES PLEASE
Man you guys are better than Ryan Day’s brother at private investigating!

Very pleased so far with the ND-related transfer developments. If the rumors are true, it's clear the staff has done their homework behind the scenes. They've accurately identified their needs and are targeting good players at those positions

LOL that makes me sound like I know better than the staff. I'm glad we agree with our assessments (maybe that's a bad thing though)

Not sure why some folks are surprised. I think ND has made it clear they will play the NIL game with grad transfers and folks already on the roster. This is good because I think playing the high school NIL game has proven to be a fool's errand. Just look no further than A&M.

Yeah, I like how ND is playing the NIL game. I’d rather spend money on proven players.

Well, i think there was consensus all season from fans around Zeke and the offense needing to change and use PA. Craig was forced to play and has played better, way better, than zeke ever has, and freeman after week 10 made the changes to the offense fans were claiming for.

Change is not easy, especially after you have invested so much time into something, someone, and a plan. It's easy for us to identify the changes needed, some are easy to do, most are very difficult, and we don't have to be involved in actually changing it. Example, how you quickly modify and build out the game plan, schemes, and play calls offensively after you spent the last 9 months having parker lead that. Not easy change, one that should have happened earlier.

Biggest Needs in transfer portal or what we should be targeting.
QB-1
WR-1-2
OL- I'd go get one tackle and maybe a OG as depth
Safety-I'd go get 1-2 safeties, 2 if Watts leaves
DT-1
DE-1-2
TE-We are good
Corner-We are good
LB-We are good
RB-We are good

It’s too bad the WR from Va Tech didn’t work out but we did very well with the grad transfer portal this season in Hartman, JJB and Harper (and even Ford. TBD on RI guy but he has another year).
We seem to have a pretty smart approach, and something appealing to offer to a guy who wants to end his career on a bigger stage than he currently occupies.

We need to ensure our grad transfers that we take are healthy and are ALL in on football and ND.

I wonder if we do any medical evaluation/physical on their visits?

Seems talented, but looks like a field wr to me. 6-1 185.

That's perfect, we need a field. It was supposed to be TM but he's...

We have too many big, slow boundary WRs. Jaden Thomas, Colzie, even Greathouse and Rico when they're there - all possession/boundary types.

I just hope they go all-in at every single position of need. I suspect that they're making an effort to actually do that. If Loy really did say that the DE from Miami is a complimentary/rotational player, that would lead me to believe that they're open to taking 2 DE's, particularly ones who can rush the QB. Most people think that Watts will come back, but I noticed that O'Leary is following LaMiles Brooks, the Georgia Tech Safety, on Twitter. If he decides to hit the portal he'd almost certainly be the best grad transfer Safety available.

Are we in on the DE from Miami?

Agree, the Miami DE is not the Stud SDE or Vyper we need, but definitely can play.

It sounds like Leonard is the man, but I see that Hank Bachmeier just entered the portal. Is he any good?

This is very good news because ND can't move fast when the portal doors open like most schools can, so this is exactly how they need to operate and it looks like that's exactly what they're doing... If the rumors are true, it's clear the staff has done their homework behind the scenes. They've accurately identified their needs and are targeting good players at those positions -- Awesome!

Mitchell is only a red shirt JR. So unless something changes with the admin that ain’t happening.
This is a great site to spot check any player's games/year and passing/rushing history. It looks like Kris Mitchell can still play for two more years left with COVID allowance year included.

FIU students isn’t coming to ND unless he has graduated and even than it might be a reach.

Mitchell looks like a gamer, and he's been a part of a truly awful football team. His mind would be blown running out of the tunnel day 1! Hope we land him.
