1) Two-Hearted Ale
2) Molson
3) Busch Light - yes, when you've drank it all your life you learn to like it.

Although I have not had it, Bells sells a seasonal beer called Hopslam that I've heard wonders about. It sells for about $20 a 6-pack.

If you like strong hoppy beers its incredible. Possibly my favorite.

My top 3 at the moment:

1) 3 Floyds Zombie Dust
2) Oskar Blues Ten Fidy
3) Founders Backwoods Bastard

Makes me thirsty just thinking about it ...

Many fine beers posted here, but these three are quite special, I agree.

This seems like a tricky question. I mean do you go with beers that are readily available that you drink all the time or special beers you've maybe only had once. I've had Pliny the Elder once (courtesy of Bluto) and it was delicious but it's possible I never have another. So I'm not sure it can make my list.

After over-thinking this I'm going (In no particular order)...

Founders Porter (Love this, drink tons of these in colder months)
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid ( Best cheap 22 available all over)
Bells Expedition Stout (Just had to include Bells and I love this one)

Are there better beers? Probably. But these are a few of my most regular regulars.

Not a bad way to approach it at all.

My interpretation of this question is always, "you are trapped on a desert island with an unlimited store of three and only three beers ... which do you choose?" So the three beers I picked are my favorite beer in each of my three favorite styles of beer.

If I were to pick my three favorite "regular" beers, it would go more like this:

1) Revolution Anti-Hero
2) Lagunitas IPA
3) Bells Two-Hearted

What you did makes total sense. My problem is if I were trapped on an island and money and availability were not an issue I think I'd need weeks to decide, haha. So I went with beers I buy the most in my three favorite styles. No wrong answer though. Except the dude that said Schlitz and Natty Ice.

Thank you, I have a Bevmo by my house so I usually go there but I will go by Whole Foods and check that out.

Are you still based in San Diego Co.? If so screw BevMo! You're 30 minutes from 20+ A+ tasting rooms. You are in the Beermuda Triangle for God's sake.

This is like a guy asking where to get laid from the lobby of a cathouse.

Of your island 3 I've only had the Backwoods but I am dying to try the other 2.

I typically just look at these lists and wonder if a group of hippsters just collected a list of decent beers that they know most people can't get and just threw numbers randomly on them...

Has a large Northeast bias. Oddly enough I don't think that Supplication is even the best sour from Russian River. Also how is Ommegang 3 philosophers on there? I find articles like this interesting even though I almost always end up disagreeing with them.

Yeah, I admit I have had less than half of those beers, but there's no way so many of the best beers in the country come from the Northeast. Not buying it.

I do feel strongly about Maine Beer Company though. Every Maine Beer Company beer I've had (maybe half a dozen?) has been an absolute winner.

But Maine Beer Co. beers are not good for these kinds of lists, imo, because they are "just good beer" beers. In other words, there is nothing strikingly original or unique about them except that they are exceptionally well-made and fresh. Kind of like New Glarus in Wisconsin. Those are two of my favorite breweries, but I don't think any of their beers would make my top 3, if that makes sense.

Goose Island is kind of the reverse. BCBS (which made the list in question) is one of my favorite beers, but I am not generally a huge Goose Island fan.

These lists are inherently subjective. There are so many great craft beers and styles that it's impossible to compile a top 10 list and keep everyone happy. I know what you're saying about the Maine Beers. But their inclusion didn't bother me at all because in my opinion, every beer they make is fantastic. That being said, I'd probably only include Lunch in this list, and Peeper shouldn't be #2.

1. 3 Floyds Alpha King - Most people seem to like Zombie Dust, which I have never had on tap. My area gets a decent amount of Alpha King on tap though, and I have yet to find a better-tasting beer (especially among APA's).

2. Rhinegeist Pure Fury - Another APA that is fantastic. Local to Cincinnati. I've actually never had it on tap, only out of the can. It's a seasonal release and was new last fall, and it has just made its return to store shelves for fall of this year. It's not a session beer, but I will be treating it as such during ND-Clemson this weekend. I have made it a priority to try this on tap once the brewery has made it available in-house.

3. TIE - Bluegrass Brewing Company Nut Brown Ale/Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar. Though I live in Kentucky, BBC's Nut Brown is extremely hard to find. Haven't seen it in a over a year. It is my all-time favorite brown ale, but Rogue's nut brown comes in as a tie because it is extremely easy to get, and is nearly as delicious.

Honorable Mention:
Rogue Dead Guy
Green Flash West Coast IPA
Rhinegeist Zen Session IPA
3 Floyds Zombie Dust
3 Floyds Yumyum
