According to Sampson and Fortuna, the Rams have real interest in Tommy Rees for their OC gig.

Miami, as in the U not Dolphins, is after Rees per Loy.

Good for them, but I just see no reason he would take that job. Its a step back in basically every measure. Worse team with arguably a worse chance of winning anything big while he is there with an offensive minded HC at a generally unstable program.

Leaving for the NFL makes sense.

Leaving to be a HC makes sense.

Leaving to be OC at Miami? I just wouldn't get it.

Tight, I'm sure Indiana State would love him too. How's that news?

I am not Tommy's biggest fan but this would be bad. It's already bad with the amount of coaching turn over we have already had.
I am saying long term if he is going to be a future ND head coach it would be great that he has worked under McVey in the NFL. I imagine he would learn a lot at earn some credibility.

Maybe off topic but is there a list of ND alum in the coaching ranks anywhere?

The whole narrative behind promoting Freeman was continuity with the staff.
Now we're looking at 90% turnover?
Yeah him getting the job was contingent on Rees staying and continuity. Literally.

At this point, why didn’t we just hire Fickell?

I don't think Rees leaves. He wouldn't leave for Miami OC and I think the Rams can do better.

But we should expect Rees to be gone after 2022.

What are we even talking about here? Rees leaving to go be OC at Miami? Why?

The Miami 247 board on this topic has like 7 posts most of which are like “what? Why?” So I’m not sure how much there really is to it. Kind of weird.

I mean, I can see why Miami might want Rees. They suck. But no idea why he'd go there.

The Rees hype and actual results on the field/recruiting just doesn't match. With the way media guys like Orlovsky are talking you would think 5 star QB's would be lining up to play for him.

Or maybe... just maybe... cats like Sean McVay know a little more about what makes a good OC than 17 year old high school kids.

I think Tommy stays and I think he's done a pretty great job so far, only getting better.

Other than the yelling and screaming and being mean part... are we sure that Tommy is even a better OC than Chip Long?
