I doubt it was even a true kegger. Goody and his roommates always keep it chill.
Who are his roommates? Are they football players also?

Can someone closer to South Bend explain something to me, why were the cops even chasing somebody that was running from a house party??? I've been to a few parties that have been broken up by the cops and have ran from the site myself but was never chased by the police. Thanks, just trying to understand what's really going on.
Before yall jump the gun here, I am a stone's throw (literally) from where ESPN is grappling for anything they can feed Mark May, and Tommy is still in jail and NEITHER boy has been charged yet. After 48 hrs if no charges exist Tommy will be let out. However, the incident is still being investigated so he's being held on suspicion (read that again) of a felony charge.
Apparently the neighbors signed a petition. Swim team had no choice but to cancel it. Sucks cause we didn't even get our money back

Prior to the 1988 national championship season, Lou Holtz made a video entitled "Do Right" in which he talked about the one guarantee he could always make — as far back as his first year in Arkansas in 1977 — is that a football team will face three crises (at least) before a season even begins.
So far we have Aaron Lynch and now the black eye from the Rees/Calabrese arrests. Some might contend that Deontay Greenberry changing his mind at the 11th hour of signing day or Tee Shepard leaving school prior to spring practice also might qualify, but my belief is you actually need to practice or have played for the team to qualify.
In any case, the reason I posted this is because I always see other posts about "why does this always happen?" etc. It happens because what Holtz said is generally true when you are dealing with 85-100 young men between the ages of 18 to 22. It can take different forms, be it arrests, suspensions and even great tragedy you can't control occur in this world. Name a season, any season, and chances are you can dig up some of these even when such things weren't publicized to protect the University

LMAO repsFirst off, I have no idea why the quote thing above us is screwing around, not cool because I'm not smart enough for pre-med. LOL
Thirdly, Since I'm a federal officer, I'd be doing the arresting. LOL ;-)
Also for all you Golson lovers out there, I heard that it was most likely a race between Hendrix and Rees at this point. Golson is struggling to pick up the playbook and will likely only come in on special packages. FWIW

My own personal opinion on the matter being on the law enforcement side is I doubt they charge him with a felony, which is why it's taking so long. They would have to have enough evidence to convict him of bodily injury to the officer which, if it's just a knee to the stomach, despite the wind being taking out of the officer, hard to prove, almost impossible unless there is damage to prove it.
They could charge him with a Class B Misdemeanor which could be anywhere from 30 days to 6 months in jail if convicted. All the other charges, to include Carlo's, are really irrelevant IMO.
I have not seen 1 post with the correct story posted in this thread so I feel that some should take a deep breath and go about your day.
Hey, one thing still isn't clear to me. Are you some sort of officer of the law? I wanna say yes, but I'm not sure. Maybe you can post that a few more times in this thread just in case anyone missed it the first 5 times you may or may not have mentioned it.
Oh, and about why the Golson comment is bullshiit, I watched the reads that Everett made. Most were pretty good, and the bevy of plays he ran were as varried as anyone.
Hey Hoggy ne Gael!
I think you missed both points:
Number one; if they hit you square in the face with pepper spray it is because you are coming at 'em, squared off, or possibly cornered and not smart enough to duck and cover.
Roman numeral two; If they hit you square in the face with pepper spray like his booking photo clearly shows, (look how swolen that side of his face is, heck, his eyes are crooked), then you are a massively better man than I, or absolutely out of your fukkin' mind. Of course if you are a meth head, all bets are off.
I am just sayin' I have never seen anybody not subdued immediately by pepper spray. In fact, as I can remember bathing for a couple of days was a beatch, and most people that are sprayed spend as much time getting small and quiet inside to find a hole to bury themselves in.
ppl on the team...
Grahambo, please don't say you're Excise Police.

Don't be a douche.
Well, I'm quite sure I didn't miss the point because I'm the one that brought it up. I don't usually confuse my own premises. :smilewink
From the reports I've seen, it seems like Rees was sprayed AFTER he was on the ground. He may or may not have deserved the spray (I truly don't know). If, though, he was one-on-one (for lack of a better term) with a cop, and then got sprayed in that scenario, then his natural reaction is to start gyrating/flailing/yelling. To further gig him for said gyrating/flailing/yelling seems unfair. If he was one-on-two/three/four and then was sprayed, then I think that it may be fair to question his spraying altogether if he was outnumbered like that. And any ensuing gyrating/flailing/yelling could still be unfair to gig him for.
As I said, if the prosecutor looks at all actions pre spraying, then fine. If he looks at actions post spraying, then he may open a can of worms he wish he hadn't.
And as I said in an earlier post (and what I thought when first read the story at 7am on ESPN), I think the felony aspect of his charges will be droppedThat's my main concern here. Sh!tty QB or not, that could severely screw up his future. And this doesn't seem like a case where something like that needs to happen.

Fair enough.
Someone screwed the pooch. I fixed it for me if you will notice back a few posts. (Number 435)
Grahambo you and sherm, I don't know. You guys playing cops and robbers; did you show him your hand cuffs?
I have no idea who they are. I literally thought the OP who wrote that meant excess police.
Good. Excise police are called in for game days and on the big ND party nights (end of semester, after big games, etc.) and they are sadistic individuals that give a bad name to police everywhere. They deal solely in alcohol offenses, meaning they troll the area surrounding ND for underage drinkers. They arrest first and ask questions much, much later.
