I see your point. I've seen TW cus, spit, throw clubs (Augusta, British Open, etc). I'm sure there are other stories of guys on tour doing it, but I just don't think that we see it.

I would like to see him not throw or toss his clubs anymore. But I can also imagine the frustration that comes with expecting perfection on every shot. I really think that as this new swing continues to come to fruition, we won't see his escapades anymore.

I, myself, have had to step back from my expectations a bit on the course just so I can freaking enjoy the game. I used to be a headcase on the course and it would ruin my and others round.

it's tough when you shoot 97 instead of 91.

Ha. I have a decent swing. I have a good club throw as well.

I use to love Tiger. but now I really can't stand him. He has a personality of a doorknob ever since his blowup. His whole press conference afterwards reminded me of a funeral. He has been linked to HGH. The whole feud with his swing coach. He was amazing and great to watch, but now he can just disappear.

I can not comprehend how someone who swings a club and literally does nothing else except walk, can be "athlete of the year" as he was a few years back. I've got nothing else.

Out of curiosity, do you golf?

Didn't Lance Armstrong win this 3 years in a row? Think he did.

Tiger is, without question, my favorite athlete now and of all time. Without a doubt the most important athlete to his sport ever, because whether you're rooting for or against him, he is a reason to watch a sport all by himself. Thinking he gets at least one this year, hoping he gets more than that.

So if you are having kids and still planning to mess around, and all indications are he was never going to dump his blackbook, why get married? You can have kids without being married.

See Antonio Cromartie, or Shawn Kemp or (insert pro athlete here... no pun intended)

BTW, Tiger is now w Lyndsey Vaughn, thank you very much.

I have but not regularly.

When I think Tiger in his prime there is only one athlete that comes close in terms of dominance, "clutch", and absolute natural ability.

Before his 2009 debacle, it was unfair how ahead of the curve he was.

Tiger's abilities are genius and is in my opinion the smartest golfer on the planet when it come to golf. Nicklaus was just as smart, Nicklaus could never putt like Tiger.

Here's what I appreciate about Tiger. A 20 year old black guy comes on tour and very quickly wins. He blows up racial barriers. He quickly becomes one of if not the most famous athlete on the planet. Heady stuff for a 20-22 year old.

Throughout his career, he has dodged every social land mine possible. He never promoted any social agenda. Think about that for a moment. One social misstep and he loses millions, MILLIONS!

With Nike paying him $20 million + per year, I would suggest his handlers were very protective of what got in and what got out. Tiger was smart enough to listen. The less said, the less chance of screwing up hundreds of millions of dollars for Nike and Tiger.

And let's not forget Earl Woods. He was not exactly a role model of a family man.

I think that Tiger making it all this time with only one blow up is pretty amazing. As I said earlier, there are a lot of skeletons in closets out there.

Tiger > Every other golfer.

The PGA would have problems without him.

I am going to assume you were referencing my comment about Tiger's course attitude so here are my thoughts in response:
I don't recall seeing Jack, Arnold, Gary Player, Lee Trevino doing that stuff on a regular basis. I guarantee you that Mickelson, Rory, Furyk, and Donald don't do it with near the frequency that Tiger does either. I'm pretty sure they all played golf in a competitive way, so I don't see how that point is valid.

I know it happens occasionally to other players too, but come on. If Tiger has "changed" that in his attitude, I fail to see it. I'd like to know when he changed that. Wasn't he supposed to change after the marital scandal based on what he said in his "apology" press conference? I see little difference between his actions before and after it when it comes to his tantrums. It doesn't mean he is not the greatest golfer of all time, he's just a competitve but arrogant (and in a way immature) guy. His struggles to regain his previous form on the course simply prove that.

P.S. For perspective, I have attended (3) pro tour events (2006 US Senior Open, 2010 PGA Championship, and 2012 BMW Championship) and do not recall seeing any heated club throwing/slamming/outbursts in the groups I followed.
Keegan Bradley had a GD apologized for just last week by the telecast crew. As a christian that is the one thing that is like a stake to your heart. Of course Tiger has done it but I am just saying that there are other guys that cuss and he is a target. If that happened while Flado was calling the shots there would have been hell to pay. Tiger is a target and if you dont think Arnold/Trevino/etc whoever didnt drop some bombs out there then your delusional. It was an instance of how the game was covered. Jack may have been the only one that had the composure to put a lid on it. Thats why he won. You take away Tigers emotion and you take away his competitive nature. While I dont wont to here GD other stuff doesnt bother me. I dont know what tournaments you've been at but at times the ones I've attended there have been club disposing incidents. They beat the crap out of their bag after missing a putt by tossing the putter at the bag. The point is the bias against this man because of his color/past sins/attitude of I am 'Tiger Woods' opens him up for all the critism. I look past that pray he continues to grow and by golly he is 'Tiger Woods'. Ask the people who know him what kind of person he is and to a man the like the guy and talk about his loyalty to them. My only complaint on the guy is he pulls for Stanford against my Irish-but thats understandable. P S I threw my wedge in a tree last week and it felt GREAT-birdied the next hole.

Is that Judge Smails behind you?

Ha grandpa. Didn't want to golf with him, felt I owed it to him.

I too worry about the state of the game after Tiger leaves. Hopefully he has at least another decade under him on the tour. This swing seems to be a little easier on his body. I just don't see anyone carrying the torch after he leaves. Tiger broke barriers, records, etc.

and they're going to after him. Rory isn't nearly as much of a crowd draw.

They might, though The PGA is doing a great job right now, before Tiger leaves, of tryin to promote new talent. (Fowler, Bubba, Rory, Keegan, Snedeker, Mahan, etc.) People of my generation, early to mid 20s, grew up with Tiger in his prime and I think it is really starting to show with more and more young people picking up golf as a hobby or even more. Love what Tiger has done for the game, and hope to see him win at least one major this year.

No way he loses this lead today...Two wins in the bag already this season. Things are looking up I'd say.

And Phil thought he could compete with Tiger this weekend, let alone play in the final group with him...

I think 3 or 4 under for Tiger should do it.

Agree, just be steady. He loves this track. I also like him at bay hill again as we'll.
