Who is the recruit ranked as a three star that you most would have loved to have, in retrospect? He has to be a recruit that ND was in play with - or would have been, if offered.

If I can't pick everyone on Stanford's offensive or defensive lines, my pick is

Luke Kuechly

Luke Kuechly To Notre Dame? It Could Have Happened

Imagine Kuechly next to Te'o

Were there any sites that listed Elijah Hood as a 3 star...?

Don't recall if he or ND had any interest in each other, but Ryan Kerrigan was a homegrown 3 star that would have been nice to have.

Oh boy would that have been nice. All his coaches and close friends (all the guys I coach with now) are ND fans, but Ryan was actually a Michigan fan and was supposed to head there until Michigan decided some other guy deserved his scholarship more.

Boy did he raise hell against them (and every school for that matter) after that.

For the record, I don't think there was much interest from ND. Pretty sure they checked him out but that was all.

I see this thread and "missed by this much(whew)" as 2 threads created to talk about football because there is none.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

2:s: Eric Fisher

CMU baby! Represent! Ha but really, I had a class with someone who went to school with Eric. He states that when he was in HS that he was surprised even CMU offered him. Said he was only a large body on a field of small bodies. Eric worked his ass off at Central and it just goes to show that if you have the mind set, you can do anything you put your mind to.

Hau'oli Kikaha - Teammate of Te'o and Toma and also a 2009 HS graduate. Even with two torn ACL, he likely will a first round pick in the 2015 draft. A beast.

Randy Gregory - Probably a top ten (or five) selection in the next draft. Played HS in Indiana, former Purdue commit. With him in the defense, this team would be so much better.

David Amerson - Had 13 Interceptions in 2011, crazy. I think he was close to be a Fighting Irish but finally he chose NC State.

To highlight the ineptitude of the Purdue football program (most notably under Danny Hope):
Fisher was dead set on getting an offer from Purdue, and went to their camp with the full intention of getting an offer. Hope showed up the morning of the first camp, said hi, and was gone the rest of the time, choosing to golf instead.
