I’ve been a long-time Cub fan and I just found out that the Cubs were originally called the White Stockings. My mind is blown. It feels like something I should’ve known.

Not a lot of creativity in the olden days of sports.

Just saw this on Twitter. Reminded me of when my grandpa passed many years ago. He had been in a coma for about a week after complications from lung cancer. His kids all came to the hospital, and they could see he was struggling. My aunt, who was a nurse for 35 years, got close to his ear and said "It's okay, dad, we're all here. You can go now." He took one more breath and that was it.

They decided to stay in Bunnell, which is apparently like Florida Deliverance complete with banjos, because they found a cheap 5 bedroom with a hottub and ATVs...despite the fact there's all of one stoplight in town and they're 25 miles from any kind of store. That's great planning lol.

Man....wife and I went the the Huntington Co humane shelter last night. So heartbreaking seeing all the animals in there. In the short hour we were there to get acquainted with a dog, 2 more were surrendered by their owners, one of which was a gorgeous blue eyed husky. They were already over on their dogs, so they did a quick background on us and now the happy owners of a 1 year old female mastodor.

She was kind of overwhelmed Wednesday night. Last night the true dog came out. I couldn't go anywhere in the house without her by my side. Took her out to play fetch....kinda of leary grabbing a ball out of a new dogs mouth, but as soon as I started to pull...she let go. Slept on the couch with her and she woke me up about every hour licking my face. Think it's safe to say we adopted the biggest baby in the shelter. Can't wait to take her out fishing
