Thread locked. I'll unlock sometime later so we can just avoid the politics.
How are they in breach of contract?Nothing about the ACC yet. They are in breach of contractual obligations to ND, but ND can't respond? Pete needs to put the ACC on notice that this relationship is actively harming ND and no longer in our interest, and hopefully the league begins to fall apart.
Yep, time to go Sherman’s march to the sea. There isn’t a way forward with these bastards.Nothing about the ACC yet. They are in breach of contractual obligations to ND, but ND can't respond? Lobbying against your own business partner seems ill advised. How are they in breach of contract?
Maybe not actively campaigning against a school you have a relationship withHow are they in breach of contract?

I read -maybe this is wrong- that they aren't supposed to sabotage ND like this, per the agreement with ND. Maybe that's wrong. In any case, though, the relationship has clearly run its course and it is time to radically change direction. How are they in breach of contract?

This has been a talking point at other boards, particularly among those who have hated the arrangement from day 1. The argument has been that the ACC has acted in bad faith in their campaigning for Miami over ND. But advocating for their member over a non-football member doesn't seem to be bad faith absent other circumstances. They haven't said ND is fraudulent or that we cheated or anything else disparaging. Their argument has been Miami deserves to be in over ND if that was the situation the committee was presented with. I don't see why that is a breach of good faith. Can you explain this?
Litigation funding is big business these days, shouldn’t be too hard to find some investors willing to fund a crusade. This has been a talking point at other boards, particularly among those who have hated the arrangement from day 1. The other issue is that nobody advocating for it has seen the agreement, which is a pretty substantial caveat if someone is arguing breach, and why they are relying on general underpinnings of contract law as opposed to an actual breach of specific terms.
Fuck no, joining the Big integer or SEC is just gross. So many other alternatives than that.Strongly worded letter to the ACC? No thanks. End it immediately and join one of the two premier conferences. Independence was all cool and all last year when we collected playoff money, but now we're sitting with a goose egg and that will impact NIL. Not to mention NBC contract makes significantly less than Big 10 deal.
And our rivalries are as weak as can be, we're forced to play toughest games week 1 or 2 due to conference schedules (how's that gone last few years?), playing the other team and their refs, I'm just over it all.
We were in the championship game literally last season and the primary format change this season, which removed the requirement of being a conference champion to qualify for a first round bye, was in our favor.Keep clinging to "identity" when the conferences are going to continue to keep you out of the playoffs.
The goal is championships, can't win one without playing in the playoffs.
Join one and stop the silly mantra we need to be different.
I'd rather be watching ND playing in the playoffs than lecturing the world that independence is our identity.
Only if you go undefeated or 1 loss.We were in the championship game literally last season and the primary format change this season, which removed the requirement of being a conference champion to qualify for a first round bye, was in our favor.
Come on man. I think we deserved to get in too, but we can't rightly complain that our schedule was too difficult or that we didn't get to play "bullshit teams."Only if you go undefeated or 1 loss.
Enjoy the benefits of multiple losses and the extra cash while playing in the playoffs. Enjoy being able to play bullshit teams in the beginning of the year while you work out your kinks with a new QB and a new DC.
Season ticket holders can enjoy more games worth driving 6 hours one way to go watch.
Huh?Come on man. I think we deserved to get in too, but we can't rightly complain that our schedule was too difficult or that we didn't get to play "bullshit teams."
You can thank Jack for the shit schedule we had this year.I expect him to be a passive Little bitch.
This wouldn’t have happened with Jack.
Yup. Great week for JS in hindsight. We needed heat turned up on our “partners” much earlier in the process to protect our interests. JS knew leverage.I expect him to be a passive Little bitch.
This wouldn’t have happened with Jack.
Not gonna happen. Plus why would the ACC champs want to leave?Start a 8 team independent “conference”
ND, BYU, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford, Vandy, etc..
Jack set up the schedule and the arrangement with the ACC in the first place.I expect him to be a passive Little bitch.
This wouldn’t have happened with Jack.
I don’t follow platform as much as writers anymore. Ross is on the Yahoo College Football podcast and it was one of the best out there (when Pat Forde and Dan Wetzel were on it too). I believe Pete Thamel was there at one point tooMaybe this is part of the problem, who even reads anything from yahoo? Can we make a fucking statement to NBC sports, Fox, Bartsool anyone else beside ya-hoo-the fuck.
