Stephen Curry has more 3s over this season and last (683) than Larry Bird did in his 13-year career (649) and MJ did (581) in his 15 years.

Curry is the first player to make 300 threes in a season.

He is also the first to hit 400.

Curry has completed the second 50-45-90 (FG% 3pt% FT%) season in history (2007 Steve Nash).

Curry's 2,375 points this season is the most ever for a 50-40-90 season.

Meaningless numbers. The defensive rules were so vastly different in the Bird era that you can't compare what any of the shooters back then did with what Curry is doing now.

I don't say that to take a way from Curry - he is amazing and fun to watch, but you just can't compare eras.

The fact that people are comparing a 37 year old player with 20 seasons under his belt to a guy that is entering his prime years of his career is telling of the kind of intelligence we are dealing with here.

People who watch basketball regularly can appreciate that Kobe delivered a vintage ending. Yesterday wasn't about being efficient, it was about giving his fans a last look at his game. It is very ironic that his haters still tuned in to watch the game if it was that bad of a showcase.

Who cares? The dude is 37 with a broken body. No one argues that he had a good year this year.

Ten years from now the only thing people will remember about this season is his last game.

I was responding very specifically to Greyhammer's post. I don't disagree with you at all. He had a very good game and an amazing career.

I mean...Kobe had a remarkable career. But he's been pretty bad for about 3 years. He had an historically bad shooting season this year. He shot 35.8% from the field while taking 17 shots (7 three pointers, 28.5%) a game.

My point is that for some reason in the nba there's a large group of fans that immediately complain about any player being called great. They crawl out of the woodwork every time something cool happens. It happens some with other sports, but nothing like the NBA.

The "I can't wait till (insert great player) retires" crowd is annoying because (1) they are basically trying to ruin the fun everyone else is having and (2) they will do it with every other great player that comes next too.

Just enjoy the freaking show. These guys are some of the best to ever play the sport.

I agree Curry is incomparable

I've never like Kobe and 50 shots is ridiculous, but it was a great end to a great career.

Curry's year was amazing on a lot of levels. It won't happen, but think about this: he was league MVP last year (and will be this year), but an argument can be made that he should win the Most Improved Player award too. His game is and accomplishments probably improved more than anyone else (imo), and considering he started on top; that is incredible.

considered draft eligible, since he reportedly graduated high school in Canada in June of 2015, and is now technically in his fifth year of high school.

The official NBA collective bargaining agreement rule states that a player can be eligible for selection in the NBA Draft if “the player is or will be at least nineteen years of age during the calendar year in which the Draft is held, and, at least one NBA Season has elapsed since the player's graduation from high school.”

If you look at career averages, Kobe shot a shade under 45% and for the game shot 44%. Had he not taken 21 3's, and stayed with the midrange game, he most definitely could've gone for more and shot a higher percentage. Nothing short of incredible given how it was all will in the 4th qtr. If I was him, I wouldn't get out of the bed for two weeks.

Did you guys catch the post-game interview? They asked if he was going to workout in the morning and he said 'I have to. I don't have a choice. I need that in my routine and if you take a day off, you take two days off, etc.'

Say what you want about him, but there's not another work ethic like his.

He learned it from Bird!

Saw this and thought it was neat. As a point guard I never considered part of my job to pass the ball in such a way my shooters were set up straight off the pass. I guess that’s what makes JWil such an awesome PG. I loved watching him play
